Iowa should have let them score right away and get the ball with about 1:30 left, but I understand the pride at stake.

Not a fan of either one as well. However, I would have preferred that the next team to make the playoffs out of the Midwest would be us and not MSU, OSU or UM.

It's not pride. It obviously didn't work out. But Iowa's defense hadn't given up a TD all game. It was a calculated risk.

I would say yes go for the stop if they were at the 7 yard line. But at the 3 with no timeouts, you have to let them score.
