Week two isn't super strong, but there are a few big games, and some others that offer intrigue.
FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 7
8:00 PM - #16 TCU @ SMU - ESPN2
- The Horned Frogs looked good in week one, while SMU looked bad in a loss to North Texas
- What might have been an intriguing matchup might be a blowout, but it's football, so tune in
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 8
12:00 PM - #18 Mississippi State @ Kansas State - ESPN
- Not super intriguing, but the noon slate is garbage
- Joe Moorehead might be on ND's radar to replace BK some day, so watch his MSU squad
12:00 PM - Arizona @ Houston - ABC/ESPN2
- Arizona laid an egg in week one. Can Kahlil Tate get on track and make big plays?
- Houston's Ed Oliver will terrorize the 'Zona OL. He's a joy to watch.
12:00 PM - Duke @ Northwestern - ESPNU
- Battle of the Nerds
- Northwestern looked legit against Purdue, at least on defense. Scout the future opponent.
1:00 PM - UCLA @ #6 Oklahoma - FOX
- Oklahoma isn't gonna miss a beat with Kyler Murray at QB... they might be more dangerous
- UCLA looked not great on offense in Chip Kelly's debut... was he saving some surprises for the Sooners?
3:30 PM - #8 NOTRE DAME vs Ball State - NBC
- Avoid the hangover
- Take care of business
- Keep Wimbush on track and practicing those 50/50 throws
3:30 PM - Colorado @ Nebraska - ABC
- Scott Frost's debut was delayed a week, and he's got a freshman at QB
- There is nothing else intriguing about this game. Let's just see how good Nebraska's offense is already.
3:30 PM - #3 Georgia @ #24 South Carolina - CBS
- UGA played two QB's in week one, so who takes the greater share of the reps this week?
- South Carolina looked good on offense at the end of last year and to start this season. Can they test the Bulldogs?
5:00 PM - Iowa State @ Iowa - FOX
- Matt Campbell and Kirk Ferentz is actually a really good coaching matchup
- Watch another potential future ND coach in Campbell and judge his skillz.
7:00 PM - #2 Clemson @ Texas A&M - ESPN
- Props to the Tigers for going on the road for a big game early in the year
- Has Jimbo got things together quickly enough to defeat Dabo's well-oiled program?
7:30 PM - Kentucky @ #25 Florida - SECN
- Kentucky has a decent transfer QB and one of the best RB's in the country in Benny Snell
- Florida has won a million games in a row in this series. Can the Wildcats make it happen?
7:30 PM - Fresno State @ Minnesota - FS1
- Fresno State was actually really good last year
- Minnesota is starting a walk-on at QB, and faces a decent test.
- Future potential ND coach in Fleck roaming the sidelines for the Gophers.
8:00 PM - #13 Penn State @ Pittsburgh - ABC
- Penn State survived a good Appalachian State team last week... Rebound or hangover?
- Narduzzi is gonna have some things ready for Franklin's offense. Can they hold McSorley down for a whole game?
8:00 PM - Cincinnati @ Miami (OH) - ESPN3
- Luke Fickell matches up with our old pal Chuck Martin
- Bearcat D looked stingy in week one. Offense looked meh. Go Bearcats.
8:30 PM - #17 USC @ #10 Stanford - FOX

- Love vs. crappy USC run D.
- Smart Stanford D vs. JT Daniels and his buddy Amon-Ra St. Brown

- Super late kickoff for Sparty's body clocks #BodyClock
