Hope BK uses all the bulletin board material out there. this team seems much more focused than past years, and seems to be having more fun too.

with Book being dinged up, i bet the OL plays it's best game feeling responsible for keeping him safe and healthy. i think Book picks them apart all night (well maybe not the 2Q if Long is consistent).

Last Chance U - first season. Coach is obsessed with style points and talks constantly about the importance of absolute domination of opponents to rise in the rankings. Seems that has bled over to FBS considerably.

But then again, a team like LSU is propped up by defense and given tons of street cred even though the offenses they play are lackluster. End of the day just win. However I do think UCF deserves a shot at the playoffs if they win 25 in a row. I would definitely put them in over a Michigan or UGA that already lost to a playoff team - why not treat those match-ups as elimination games and give someone else a shot?

It's nothing new. The eye test has always been there. And the first thing the eye picks up is the score.

"Milton was also quoted as saying: 'Oh, they played Navy too? What was the score there? Well s**t.'"

Okay...and we doubled up their margin of victory against Navy. Can't look at your schedule with tunnel vision, that's a lazy argument.

Also, they looked like world beaters against Memphis and Temple.

"You have a close win against Ball State, too!"

Thanks for pointing that out, we also have a SOS and SOR that runs circles against your cupcake schedule.

I don't buy into the "They deserve it, they have 20+ wins in a row." If you don't play anyone you don't get in to the dance. They can only play who they have across from them on the field. That's out of their control. But you can't tell me they have a 100+ SOS and should get in. It's just the way it is

Boise State needs to call UCF, and give them tips on how to be the underdog people actually root for to create chaos. UCF has become absolutely unbearable the last year. Screw them.

* Baylor and Auburn (especially Auburn) can take the blame for this for getting choke slammed in their BCS matches against them

There's plenty of folks cheering for UCF. Not sure why they would want to take advice from Boise. Boise got left out as well twice. Their humble "we're just happy to be xx" the first time they finished undefeated didn't help them the second time they went undefeated and got left out.

The AAC has done a pretty good job scheduling OoC games the last 5-10 years. AAC has some pretty solid teams in UCF, Cinci, USF, Houston, Temple, etc.. Even Tulane and SMU played a couple top 25 (scUM, OSU, TCU) teams. I think the tops of their conference would do more than fair against the tops of the Big12 and Pac12. They obviously have done fair against the tops of the AAC (minus Clemson).

In bowl games last year vs P5 they were 3-1. And one point from being 4-0.

Not saying UCF is a top 4 team, but I do have a problem where a conference is included in a system that will never let their team compete in the championship. It's just one of many reasons I'm for an 8 team (5+3) playoff.

Hope the Bearcats figure out a way to beat them so they can slink back into obscurity.

Yeah today should put an end to any debate about Michigan jumping ahead of us. Even if/when they beat OSU next week, do you really get cred beating a team that needed overtime to beat Maryland?

this coming Tuesday...

ND should be #2
Clemson #3

scUM should drop for looking weak against IU.
UGA and LSU should drop because they played no one
OK should drop because KS hung with them
WSU should move up if they keep doing what they are doing
WVU gone
OSU gone (until ESPN starts talking about how they should be #4 if they beat scUM)
UCF should be right behind WSU and ahead of a bunch of the weak asses above.

of course nothing of the sort will happen

Assuming ND takes out U$C, #2 plays #3 in the semi-finals. If nothing crazy happens (which is not likely), we wouldn't play Bama in the semis anyway. Too much thinking ahead though, JUST BEAT U$C!

Washington State is destroying Arizona. Their offense and Minshew are legit.

#s matter. don't be insensitive. just wait till Bama drops into our 2-3 zone.

IMO there is no justification for Oklahoma at 6 and LSU at 7 over WSU. Oklahoma does not pass the eye test at all... they gave up 40 to Kansas! They play close games every week and have a truly awful defense.

I think ND has an argument for being in with a loss heaven forbid something crazy happens in LA. Assuming Bama beats Georgia, it’s hard to make a case for Oklahoma or WSU being a more deserving one loss team.

It wouldn't make sense, but I have a hard time believing ND would make it in with a loss to USC. Late season losses are worse, consider scUM is one place behind ND now, and ND would drop a few spots minimum with a loss.

I agree. WSU blew it against USC. They are making Arizona look like a JUCO team right now and it looks like they decided to finally play defense. Anyhow, If ND doesn’t run USC out of the coliseum I’ll be a bit disappointed.

The playoffs are now. Luckily we get to play a 45 seed. If we lose to USC I wouldn't be clamoring to get in.

True, but the floor for ND with a loss is 6. They won’t drop behind 2 loss LSU. Then you have to consider Georgia going down to Bama, which would put ND at 5.

So then it becomes a debate between Oklahoma and ND for who is 4 and who is 5. WSU might get in the mix too. If Oklahoma loses to WVU or in Big 12 championship it’s almost a lock that ND gets in even with a loss.

So I think 12-1 Michigan deserves to be #4 over 12-1 Oklahoma, but it will be interesting since they’d beat Texas in a rematch in the conf champ game. Unusual profile if they avenge their close neutral site loss with a neural site win to end the season. Maybe Michigan is clearly ahead of OU, but could very well come down to style points the next two weeks.
