I hope we can all agree the system is still flawed even being removed from the BCS....

Why would you only have a 4 team playoff when there are 5 power conferences, each with a Champion??

We'll have an 8 team playoff. Just a matter of when.

The only thing you can say about both the BCS and the current playoff design is this: If you were designing it in a vacuum, it wouldn't be what you would ever design.

Everyone on Twitter is mad at Galloway... what did he say?

I think these guys are starting to go off the rails, btw, because there haven’t been realistic opportunities to shuffle the rankings for the committee, which limits the ESPN analyst talking points. The fact that they are basically just average, biased fans is starting to show more than normal.

UCF vs LSU projected lol.
would love to see UCF pick off another SEC team.

Herb did say UCF would stand a good chance vs any team without a dominant DL. He mentioned Bama, Clemson, ND, and scUM as teams that would be able to get home and let safeties stay back.

Basically Galloway and Herbstreit believe the Michigan is better than ND and should be ranked ahead of them. They are pushing that story of Michigan playing as well as anyone in the country pretty hard.

They are just pumping up scUM so that when their OSU team beats them, the conversation becomes OSU deserves a spot... And if OSU beats scUM by more than a TD like we did, the OSU homers will go full tilt.

Exactly. Their team has looked like a bag of dicks for most of the second half of the season but that win against a not awful Michigan team will allow them to sit proudly on their Playing Well Recently throne and who cares what happened in Week 1 or Week 8 or Week 10. We beat them in a Conference Championship so we are the better team.

Need to steamroll SU like we did FSU. That should shut them up. No it wouldn’t, never mind.

Even if we beat Michigan again in a second matchup this weekend, Herbstreit and Galloway would still be making excuses for them, taking about how many Meatchicken players will be taken in the draft, how Michigan’s defense is possibly the only one to put up some kind of front vs. Alabama, how Patterson is a much improved player, how Harbaugh is really a great representative of knockoff Dockers, and how they at-least don’t have any walk-on white receivers starting because everyone knows such players suck. These guys are going so hard for Michigan it’s like they are preparing Ohio St. fans to stomach a loss to what is actually an average overall team with above average defense. At this point, it’s so blatant that Herbstreit is smoking on the sausages he advertises and Galloway is his twit sidekick.

I’m no expert but from what I’ve seen from scUM & tOSU, I think scUM wins fairly easily. Buckeyes still struggled w/ their offense last week vs Sparty. They struggled putting Nebraska away after in the Horseshoe coming off a bye.

I’d love to see scUM beat tOSU (can’t believe I just typed that) as long as they turned around and got upset by Northwestern. I don’t see that happening but I guy can dream.

I'd rather have Michigan win out and Clemson drop one. ND - Michigan in the Playoff would be unbelievable.

Michigan is playing a lot better than OSU right now. And it's probably simpler for us, playoff-scenario-wise, if Michigan wins that game. So, swallow hard and Go Blue.

Our best scenario (can't happen but it's at least slightly rational) would be for us, Alabama, and Michigan to win out but Clemson to get upset and drop to number four.

Then we beat Michigan again (Book buffooning their DLine monsters and middle OLB with his short game and the OLine ripping up their DTs), while an angry Clemson gets really hyped and punches out Alabama.

Then we get Clemson, and Book negates their DLine just as he did UofM's in the semis.

Just for a moment let me live with those images................

Here's the dream scenario everyone wants:

1. Bama
2. Clemson
3. ND
4. Michigan

Bama beats Michigan

ND beats Clemson

ND beats Bama

ND immediately becomes the '72 Dolphins. ND will have beaten the other 3 teams in the CFP's. No team can ever beat that.

Even if you believe Michigan is slightly better right now (that’s all they could be as we are playing very well), we beat them and are more deserving. I feel like I’m in some Twilight zone shit. When did football become a beauty contest?

Loved Pollack's comment this previous gameday: "If head to head doesn't matter, then why do we even play the game?" He's right. If head to head doesn't matter and it's just about who LOOKS the best, why do we even play big games? If the CFP committee were to rank Michigan over ND, they are essentially telling everyone to go the SEC route and play nothing but cupcakes for the first few weeks of the season because games don't matter at that point in time.

I think if anything, winning early should at times matter more. If you play big games early, they are more like a playoff game than most other season games. You are spending a huge amount of time on one game, similar to the first round of the playoffs. Michigan and ND both had months to prepare for the first game of the year. Notre Dame did a better job at that. Give credit where it's due.

What's really irritating is how a lot of analysts and fans of other programs bring up that ND doesn't have to play a 13th game and should have to join a conference to make the playoffs. It's mostly fans but I've heard a couple idiot analysts talk about it, too. How about all wins vs FCS opponents not count? Then ND will play just as many games as most other teams, and more in the case of teams who play multiple FCS teams. This year most of our opponents are having down years but we will still have played and beaten one of the ACC CCG teams and possibly both B10 teams. In most years USC and Stanford are vying for a spot in the PAC12 CG. No other team can play that many teams from different conferences so we may not have a CCG, we practically do all season due to the fact every team we play is OOC and many of them end up playing in their CCG.
