Finke has a nice game, especially for a walk on.

Cannot tell a lot about a handful of plays. But, everything I see supports the supposition that the days of slow ND teams are a thing of the past.

I think Kelly is finally to a point with his offense that we know it's going to be good. He has play makers every where. Now when the defense can do that we will be a better team. I am not expecting anything spectacular for the defense until I see it.

Amen. Seen some truly scarry offensive units in South Bend since '05...this one will be there too. Great runners, great hands guys, and some vertical threats emerging. Line play is critical, and an unknown, but Heistand seems to produce serviceable O-lines no matter what.

Ty Willingham's Defense his first year was the last I've seen where they tilted the game in ND's favor. Alvarez before that. (yes Diaco's 2012 D was good, and had some nice moments too).

I do not know why it is so difficult to field a top 20 D, but it has proved to be elusive and massively frustrating.

Sorry Arrowryan, thought I'd throw in Coach D's supplemental thoughts on individuals.

A rumor on another board is Mykelti will not be playing at ND next year. Not sure if it's just a flame or not, but has anyone heard anything on this?

If he is transferring it has to be something strange like grades ect. He was in line to get a ton of playing time this year and maybe start. Plus ND is close to home.

Who knows, maybe ND was too tough academically. Doesn't make sense to transfer in spring of your first year of eligibility. See you later. We literally didn't know you.
