Reps to anyone who can list like a top 4 in order of who's most likely to actually be president. I don't follow at all. I just pay a #$%& load of taxes every month and cry.

Hillary
Donald
Cruz
Paul Ryan
Bernie
Kasich

would be educated guess

Hillary and Trump at the top. I actually find Trump hilarious (don't know anything other than he wants to build a wall), but after rifling through his twitter, that guy cannot be the President of any country that doesn't want unnecessary conflict. He's going to ruffle more feathers than JughedJones after a night out (too soonn?)

What in the hell is Trump selling besides this wall? He's smart, successful, and can get things done. But he's slightly mad. How is he winning people over? Is it be default because people don't love the other candidates I assume he's super conservative.

That's a pretty good guess as things stand now. I actually think Ryan will overtake Cruz on this list. I don't know anything about this sex scandal, but a lot of people I know are starting to figure out how dangerous he is. His dominionism theology is coming to light and, IMO, that will bury him.

So this story was broken by the NATIONAL ENQUIRER 2 days ago? Seriously?

The more he's vetted, the more people realize that he's not been as successful as his reputation might dictate.

He understands the America public hates the media. The media doesn't understand this so it makes it easy for Trump to manipulate them.

Didn't the National Enquirer break the John Edwards story too?

The Enquirer has broken lots of these stories accurately...see John Edwards, Tiger Woods, etc. There also seem to be other reporters who had sat on it for a while.

But, yes, it's best to have caution until there's clear evidence.

He's extreme right wing on some issues and incoherent on others. For example, he thinks tariffs would be an effective tool to bring manufacturing jobs back from China, which is an extremely un-conservative position. His appeal is pure emotion, a human middle finger for people sick of "the establishment." The irony is that it'll require a HUGE administrative state to administer any of his preferred policies.

As the others posted, they have broke a lot of the recent sex scandals. John Edwards is the best example.
The thing that gives it credibility to me is the #TheThing that Rubio supporters were talking about and the fact that Kasich is still in. This would be really devastating for conservatism and Christianity if true.

If this Cruz scandal is brand new news, Trump is going to go bananas with this story.

I actually think it would be bad for Evangelical Conservatives and for Ted Cruz. But I don't think it'd be bad for Christianity. There are plenty of previous Christian hypocrites to point to and there are plenty of Conservatives who have had affairs (see Drumpf, Donald).

I'm trying to wait on solid evidence, but this story totally fits my perception of Ted Cruz. He oozes used car salesman to me.

Not if people really dig into what Cruz believes. I know he trumpets the Christianity angle as much as possible, but his version of Christianity is not a mainline version of the Faith. Read up about the seven mountains and dominionist theology. That is what Cruz believes and he believes he is the chosen one to lead the Government(his father states this all the time). It's why I believe he is, by far, the most dangerous of the candidates.

I think that might be in part because you disagree with him so strongly on policy. I always saw him as arrogant yet sincere, albeit with an awkward and off-putting style. I don't think he has the charisma to be this deceptive.

Let's not give the National Enquirer too much credit. They claim every famous person is a cheater so they are bound to be right a few times.

See Wooly's link. Other outlets have claimed to have been sitting on the same story. There isn't concrete evidence. But I don't think this is something where you see "National Enquirer" and automatically dismiss it. It seems to have some legitimacy to it.

Probably. I try not to fall into that, but we're all victims of confirmation bias. His mannerisms and delivery just strike me as gross.

No no no. I'm not saying it's not true. I'm sure it is. I'm saying let's not give them credit for breaking a real story. Tabloids are disgusting publications that should never get any credit for anything.

Could this be why Limbaugh and the rest of the conservative media have been defending Trump all along, contrary to their stated principles? If they all knew, it totally makes sense. Beck is out of the loop so nobody clued him in and he hanged himself with Cruz' rope.

I disagree here once you get beyond the top 2. HRC and The Donald will most likely be the nominees and in that event, HRC will most likely be the next POTUS.

But until the race is actually over, I don't see how you can put Ryan above Bernie and Kasich. Ryan isn't running. So unless a brokered convention actually happens and the Repubs select him, he has 0% chance at this point in time of being the next POTUS. For me personally, I'd flip Bernie and Cruz. Both are trailing HRC and Trump respectively for their party nomination. But in the event Bernie catches/passes HRC, his electability ratings trump (pun intended) all other candidates, meaning he has a better shot at winning the General Election.

IMO it's:

HRC

Drumpf

Bernie
Cruz
Kasich

Ryan

I was just asking for a general idea to know what to expect, and you and GK both gave me that. Apparently it's down to HRC and Trump. Which is all I wanted to really know. Reps to you both.

If they broke the story and it's legit, they deserve the credit. Even a broken clock gets credit for being right twice a day. Just my .02

If you really want to see a shit-show-circus:

HRC gets indicted. Drops out.
Brokered convention and they pick Kasich.
Trump gets pissed and runs 3rd party.

Bernie vs Kasich vs Trump = Bernie Sanders next POTUS. That'd be some crazy level 10 shit right there. Won't happen. But damn. The drama.
