Old People of IE: Did Holtz do this too?
Yes. He pulled Randy Moss' offer.
Not because they found someone better. Moss was in a fight or smoking pot or something and that is why Holtz could not take him. (can't remember which was ND and which was FSU.)
Jones is a kid that I like. I remember after the Sykes debacle a few years ago being pretty bummed after losing an athletic LB. I personally like Jones film better and it's against better competition. LSU has made a living off linebackers just like this.

Yep, a fight got his scholarship at ND pulled, and then pot got him kicked out of Florida State. He then ended up at Marshall. Little nugget from a source: during his OV to ND, the visiting recruits were given a talk about academics by an academic adviser. Moss interrupted and asked how long the talk was going to take.
On March 23, 1995, Moss backed a friend in a hallway fight against a white student who had allegedly used racist comments towards Randy's friend.[7] Moss was initially charged with a felony for kicking the student, but it was later reduced to a misdemeanor. On August 1, 1995, Moss pled guilty to two counts of misdemeanor battery and was sentenced to 30 days behind bars at the South Central Regional Jail in Charleston, West Virginia. He served 3 days in jail starting that night and would be required to serve the remaining 27 days within the following 18 months, after he completed his freshman year in college.[8] Moss was expelled from DuPont and completed his education at Cabell Alternative School.[9]
If we pull the two 5s on signing day coupled with Jones, our defensive haul would be:
**Caleb Kelly - OLB
Daelin Hayes - OLB
Khalid Kareem - SDE
Troy Pride Jr. - CB
Julian Okwara - WDE
Donte Vaughn - CB
**Jonathan Jones - OLB
Jalen Elliott - Ath
DJ Morgan - S
Julian Love - CB
Devin Studstill - S
Spencer Perry - S
Adetokunbo Ogundeji - WDE
Jamir Jones - OLB
Alot of talent in that list and the prospects who need some developmental time will get it.
Honestly, 1 serviceable DT and I'd take it over any defensive haul in the entire nation.
Updated the OP. We are sittin' pretty right now guys.
I'd rather he visit Bama (the school he decommitted from) rather than take the SAT again so he can finally get admitted to Stanford (the school that has eluded him). But hey, maybe that's just me.Will edit the info under Robertson when I get back on my laptop. He's not visiting Bama this weekend. Take this as a good sign.

I'm starting to get the feeling that Notre Dame will only land Jonathon Jones on signing day and even he isn't a forgone lock. The only realistic guys left on our board our Demetris Robertson, Jonathon Jones, Caleb Kelly, Jordan Fuller and Jeffrey Mcculoch.
Jonathon Jones: It's 50/50 with us and Michigan.
Robertson: I think he ends up staying and going to Georgia
Kelly: he is headed to Oklahoma we have all seen how this ends before
Fuller: He is headed to OSU.
Mcculoch: all Texas
If ND strikes out on all of them, and IYO there's a 50-50 chance that happens, someone not on that list will be signing with ND.
Yep...barrati and hounshell
I think Hounshell's back if the NCAA grants the 6th regardless. No comment on Barrati.

I'd bet Baratti is done. I think he realizes it's time to hang them up.
