Boudreaux also told Scout he thinks Morgan and Vaughn will be Irish.

Loy posted over the weekend that we received a commitment from a prospect that didn't want it to get out yet for personal reasons. My belief is that it was Vaughn as he wants to wait and announce it on his birthday. I also, think Morgan has to be feeling some pressure to commit soon as well.

Right now we have one corner and one safety committed and Perry may not stick. We will have room.

I could see Bilal and Morgan as the starting OLB's in '18.

Mogan is going to be a bigger Tranquill with better ball skills against the pass. Plus, he's been pushed in 7v7 (B2G) practice (Rosen - McGrew) and games (Trinity / PAC-5). When you sorta like his film compared to other recruits it's because he's going up against All-Americans in EVERY film vs the other recruit showing out against a D III walk-on... or worse.

He would have been a commit long ago if they would have offered him before they offered Chacho. He's a zero risk take.

I think Traquill and Morgan are almost the same players. More of in the box players who down the road could grow into a LB. I don't see Morgan asking to play in coverage on WR's if he comes here.

GB... he plays a lot of FS in arguably the toughest conference in the country. He also plays SS and rush OLB too. At his size and skill set in high school he can do it all. He has very good ball skills, that cannot be denied. Everything from his resume says he's better against the pass than Drue was at the same points in their development. But once again, I'm almost positive he's going to end up a full time OLB with excellent coverage skills. So to argue about their secondary skills long term isn't much of a concern to me.

Think Morgan can be a good OLB in the 4-3. Don't know about safety. Don't think he changes direction or accelerates fast enough to be a safety but I trust Kelly. Would rather take Okeke and Studstill at this point since we don't have many lanky Free Safeties.

Central scored 15 unanswered in the 4th to come from behind and beat Jesuit in the Holy War last Friday. Don't know too much about them this year but can't imagine they'll be up to Bosco's level. Got the DVR set

I am a big fan of Morgan's, Vaughn's, and Hayes. So this pleases me. Not so sure about Alloway. I think I like Stovall better but not sure we need either.

LuckyLucci can you give me your take on DJ Morgan? He is one I wish we'd wait on.

I don't think we need to take either running back now. With the way the o-line can play and hopefully seeing how CJ and Adams do the rest of the way out hopefully another back might give us a look.

I'm fairly indifferent at this point. He's a program fit and I like having some of these niche players on the roster as, with the way we looked on Saturday, we're using this type of hybrid player more and more. However, I like Perry better and wouldn't be surprised if we couldn't find a guy we like better for that role if Perry goes elsewhere.

Let me preface this by saying this is only based on the tape that I've seen. I don't see an aggressive player. In fact, some of those highlights are him tackling somebody much further downfield than he should, that isn't a very good trait for a guy that could possibly be playing close to the line of scrimmage. This also affects his closing speed which looks fairly average to me. Watch Perry close on a ball carrier versus Morgan and I see two completely different players, same goes for Studstill who just flies all over the field. I see Poor angles and I think some of that is due to his lack of aggression. I don't see a player that is comfortable playing in coverage, especially laterally. I respect Crusader's opinion, I know he's much higher on him than I, but the tape doesn't show me these things. All in all, there are a lot of guys I like better but wouldn't be mad if we take him.

I agree with you Lucky... his tape never has blown me away. My belief in his coverage abilities come from the endless accolades he received over the summers 7v7 season. He impressed a lot of people and they in turn posted / wrote / tweeted their approval. If I thought he was going to remain a safety, I wouldn't be as high on him but I believe he's a big kid who's gonna put on a lot of weight and play a true OLB in college. I think then as a 6-3ish, 230+ OLB with secondary experience at the highest level possible in HS, he'll be an asset to the club.

If not, the good news is this team has Tranquill & Bilal now so it's not like they don't have this type of physical skill set on the roster. I also believe there is are better combinations of safety - LB recruits the Irish can land in '16... but if Morgan ends up at ND, I won't be upset and I believe he'll a strong contributor at some point during his career in South Bend.

Nice write up, do you prefer Okeke over Morgan? I think Okeke and Studstill would be a better combo than Morgan and Studstill

Is this a conspiracy to lock up all of the D's? DJ, Daelin, Damian and Donte?

Who else is seriously considering us at this point? Those 4 would put us at 18 I believe?

We still need DEs/DTs, S, CB, MLB, OLB, WR and possibly RB?

If we take one of each in that category, we'd be at 26 schollies and that seems too high for this class. So, can anyone help me with this picture? What positions are absolute needs vs. nice-to-have?

Rather confusing post here. In getting DJ, Donte, and Daelin we would be filling some of these spots.

we are only targeting Gary as DT...kemp im not sure is a take right now according to what 247 or rivals was discussing....DE we are in it w/ a couple

Morgan i think will be a very serviceable player...don't see a true difference maker much like Tranquil...HOWEVER against certain teams( spread, option), his skills will be HUGE...i foresee him growing into the hybrid type safety/linebacker

So are Robertson, Hayes, Betiku, Kelley, Cuffee, and Gary realistic options? I know Gary is a very doubtful option, but the others seem realistic. And they would fill the roles needed on this team.

As of now the only "realistic" options are Robertson and Hayes. We have a shot at the others but not very likely as of right now. With that said, we'll know a lot more about the others about Betiku, Kelly, and Gary if they ever visit. I can't say somebody is a realistic option if they've never been to campus.

It sounds like DT Jovan Swann had a good time at the game last weekend, per rivals. We told him that we'll be out to check out one of his game this season. Also, sounds like Stanford, NW, Mizzu, IU, and Iowa are the other teams currently in play. Just a name to follow.

Would have loved to see him at the game to see his height and frame. He's light right now and I have no idea if he can hold the needed weight. Unless your name is Will Sutton, I have reservations about 6-2, 250 something pound DT's.
