Florida, Auburn or Clemson.

Oregon and OSU. Oregon has been QB for hire recently and they run a more run oriented offense. Same goes for Urban. I'd throw up if that occurred. Clemson and Florida don't use the zone read enough, for him to go their, JMO. And well, Auburn is.......Auburn, lol

Just typing rumors I hear.

It will never be OSU. Bridge burnt.

I think our offense would likely be very good under either QB this season. My concern is that Kelly is doing this primarily to keep them both invested/ prevent a transfer. And that, at least, is uncharted territory AFAIK. Might work, but could just as easily backfire.

I agree, and even more so, I think it can hurt team unity.

That being said, you hit the nail on the head with "uncharted territory". My concern is simply whether it will work, but I really don't care if one transfers. I know that won't be popular, but I don't. That's college football. Especially if Malik transfers. He'll leave with a Notre Dame degree and a hell of an experience. He can go onto big things and even continue his career. Nobody is owed the role of QB at Notre Dame. I'm proud as hell of Malik, and whether he becomes our starter or not, he'll always be a Notre Dame guy. But we have Kizer, Wimbush and Jurco coming in. The goal is to win, and I'm open to whatever achieves that goal.

Malik will be elsewhere next year. Tennessee, which loses Dobbs after this season, would be a great fit. Kizer will be back at ND and going for a NC and a Heisman.

I think Petrino did at Lousville with a QB named Brohm and someone else. I believe he was fairly successful that year.

Excellent call. Stefan Lefors was the Senior starter and somewhat similar to Zaire in that he was mobile and liked to roll out. Excellent runner, accurate passer. Brian Brohm was a FR. and more of a traditional pocket QB. It was about a 75/25 split between the two and they both played outstanding.

Just saw this too. Great call. That offense was perfection. That was the beginning of Petrino's ascent into being a big name.

I guess that's 3 for 3 on dual QB systems where both QB's were good? Anybody got a bad example yet?

No to Tennessee. Doesn't the SEC not take 5th year seniors?

Good call. If I were him, I would try to transfer to Northwestern. His major is Film, Theater and television and Northwestern has an excellent Communication College. If he thought he would one day want to go into broadcasting, it doesn't get much better than that. He would play in the BIG under a terrific coach and be able to get drafted. It would be a mature decision that would benefit him greatly.

This is all just fun speculation though. Who knows.

Bama took Coker, but I don't think he was a 5th year. Gehrig Dieter is a 5th year, right?

Dude, Harbaugh would have to accept him. It's not just up to Zaire. I highly doubt Harbaugh would bring him, at least at QB. He's the opposite of what he looks for and his game.

I really doubt he would want to go to Michigan. Florida is my guess.

Again SEC does not take 5th year senior transfers. Unless this rule has changed this year.

I thought that they don't take 5th year transfers from within the conference.

They changed their rule back to NCAA rule. They accept graduate transfers. Bama had one last year and they have Gehrig Dieter this year.

Oklahoma State ran an effective 2-QB system last year, as well. They had one guy between the 20's, and a stud athlete named Rudolph in the red zone.

Oklahoma did it with the Belldozer for goal line and I think Landry Jones a few years back too...they just couldn't pull it off against Te'o and company (Although the refs probably did screw them on that drive at the end of the 1st half. I remember Stoops was pissed  )

Also, ya'll can shut up with the Zaire to transfer rumors or speculation. I don't want to see what an ultra competitive Malik would do in another system with a chip on his shoulder.

So much talk of Zaire leaving but I think odds are just as good he takes over as starter before the seasons over and returns as the starter next year.

Are you kidding me?

When is Kelly ever gonna catch a break? I'm not surprised that some of these players got into something like this but you would've thought Max would've learned from the bowl game suspension. Kick his ass off the team, BK.

So apparently they were pulled over for speeding. The cop(s) walked up smelling weed and then found a loaded handgun.
