Vasturia's shot selection has been pissy tonight...

About as pissy as I was at halftime... glad our boys at least fought back tonight....

I'm not a big fan of those last two possessions. I wish they would just run their normal set and keep attacking. Rex and VJ bailed them out on that one.

Yeah, it was definitely not pretty but they got solid contributions from just about everyone to overcome some sluggish and sloppy play. On to the next one.

I am not a fan of the small line up. That lineup won't make it far in the tournament.

North Carolina State will have lost six in a row by the time they face Notre Dame. It's a huge game for the Irish and the Wolfpack should be limping.

Virginia beating Duke tomorrow would help a lot, as Virginia still has to play North Carolina twice. It's a home game for the Cavaliers so that should help. Then if Duke loses to Florida State that'll give both Duke and Virginia six ACC loses.

Since they both have the tiebreaker over us we're fighting with Louisville at this point, imo. (I expect us to lose at Louisville. If we win that game all bets are off.)

We beat them once this year and we always play then tough so obviously give them the edge at home but I wouldnt use pen to write it down

I do say. Lol. I guess we should discuss the future as if only good things will happen.

Nah, we should only discuss when bad things are happening. What are your thoughts on the second half tonight? I was surprised to not see you join the discussion except for your one post when ND was facing its biggest deficit of the night.

If the options are to play geben or Torres vs Rex or Gibbs, it's no contest. The lineup may not be ideal, but it's the best they have and fsu sure couldn't handle it.

My thoughts are it was a must-win, and we won. Not much else to say beyond that.

Anyway, when I discuss possible futures I include bad possible futures; if that upsets you, don't read what I post.

Don't know that I agree with this. Our offensive flow is exponentially better when we don't have 2 bigs clogging up the lane. I'd say we won't make it far unless we use the 5 out lineup.

When have you, on any topic, discussed a good possible future?

Sucks being behind everyone except L'ville in tiebreakers.

If we get a Double-Bye, we'll need a few of these options to happen (ACC Losses in Brackets):

UNC wins out - Virginia[6], Duke[5] AND Duke Beats Virginia [7] - Virginia is gone.
FSU wins out - Won't get us in by itself, but it would give us the tie-breaker over L'Ville, as L'ville lost to UNC as well and to FSU. Our split with FSU would be the decider.

(Jesus, in looking at this, there are so many things that could happen it's insane).

Ok, nevermind. Just hope for UNC to run the table, and each of these teams to get clipped by someone outside the top 6. It's entirely possible that a few of those 4 loss teams end up with 7.

EDIT: And I think at the beginning of the year, KenPom projected the ACC winner to have 6 losses. He's pretty good.

Just to be clear: all I said in this thread was that (1) that the game today was a must-win and a loss would be humiliating (does anybody here seriously think otherwise?) and (2) that when looking at the rest of the schedule I'm assuming we lose to Louisville but win the rest of our games to finish 12-6 in the league. Is that even a "bad" possible future? That sounds pretty good to me.

Incidentally, this website thinks if we go 12-6 we have an 80% chance of finishing in the top 4 (although I think it does not take tie-breaker rules into account).

I can't tell if you're completely oblivious to how you come off or if you know exactly how you come off, which is probably worse.
