Brey needs to give Gibbs the green light to create for himsel and draw fouls. He can get to the rack, but you can tell he knows he's playing 2nd fiddle to the offense (which is a great offense). Still, we can skate by, but we're going to need another big scorer to emerge from the back court. As much as I like Fluger, he won't be that guy.

We need a guard who can penetrate and cause foul trouble for the other team's bigs. Gibbs is the best chance to emerge as that extra scorer.

Side note - I thought Torez came in and played good minutes. We will need him to do that again.

I agree on Torres. He is a sparkplug. He can grab some rebounds and bang around down low. He doesn't offer too much offensively but he makes it possible to give Bonzie a rest without completely surrendering on the glass.

I have no idea what we have in Gibbs. He is reliable with the ball but I haven't seen much that indicates he could be a reliable scorer at this point.

Ryan has been getting more involved and I'm hoping he can find his stroke again to be a much needed option on the perimeter. Vasturia and Beachem are just so cold right now.

I don't think he's reliable either, but we need another scorer to emerge. If Colson isn't rolling, we have to work hard to get our offense going, and that only gets you by 1-2 games max in the tourney.

I think Gibbs has the athleticism to take some heat off of Vasturia having to drive, and Matt having to chuck 3s, and Beachem doing whatever the hell it is he does when he decides to have an off day. I think Gibbs at the very least, can drive and draw fouls and get us to the line, where we're the best in the nation.

That I agree with. I think his strength is driving to draw defenders, which is a necessity in this offense. It could allow Farrell to become a shooter more too. He has been the only consistent perimeter threat lately.

Yesterday Bucknell was in the bonus in the first half with 11mins left. If we are in the bonus with that much time left I can't see us losing that game. Unless we keep missing...

Tom noie wrote an article today and one thing I saw what was kinda interesting he said IF Ryan returns next year. Apprently he is not happy with his role on the team and has contemplated ttansferring.

Sorry he didnt really say he was contemplating transferring but I read toms tweets and he said you can tell Ryan is not happy with role

I don't blame him one bit. Kid has played very well the last few games and he continues to bring him for a couple minutes a half. When he has played, he has been a solid threat to score, not like Rex or Gibbs

Ryan will get many more minutes next year with VJ graduating.

Starting 5 will be interesting next year. 4 guard lineup I assume. We need Burns or Mooney to emerge.

Farrell, Rex, Ryan, Bonzie are all game one starters then no clue.

Yup and bonzie after the game said he will be back for his senior year so thats huge. I really like Harveys game coming out of high school. He can really shoot it. Also I was at the practice on Wednesday and Djogo was running with 2nd team and he looked really good guys. Dont count him out at all. He has a beautiful stroke and can shoot from anywhere.

Ryan should have gotten a lot more playing time than Beachem! I would have benched Beachem's ass the whole 2nd half. 1-9 Thur. and 2-14 today. 1-12 on 3 pointers in the 2 games. WTF!!! He SUCKED in this tourney!

14.7 points per game and 4.1 rebounds is sucking? 2nd on the team in both of those categories. Whole team besides Bonzie sucks?

I should say that he sucked compared to the expectations I had for him coming into this year.

Some "inside info" on Matt Ryan. Ryan was on Fordham's campus in early June and met with admissions then so this has been in the works for awhile. His high school, Iona Prep, is 10 miles north of Fordham in New Rochelle and sends a lot of kids to Fordham so it would make sense.

VJ didn't take it to the next level like everyone wanted him to. He was a solid contributor, but not a star. He definitely was below expectations given his talent and physical ability.
