Okay, so it's the morning after Art moved the team to Baltimore basically... Living with a team that isn’t hiding the fact they aren’t in it to win but rather in it to sell tickets… My only hopes lie in:

1.) They draft a REAL quarter back today, Murray, Carr, McC… anyone who can actually play.
2.) When they don’t they’ll just be back in a minimum of two years to draft ANOTHER QB in the first round so it’s not like this will last long.

Pretty much ready to ignore the NFL in the meantime... which come on, I'm a life long Browns fans, it's pretty easy to ignore the NFL when it comes down to it.

What are you going to do if Manziel ends up being good lol?

Nix dropping that far to the Chargers, wow. Then again, he could take over in the middle and team up with Teo again. That could be interesting.

Having the WR need filled by Moncrief for the Niners would be nice but I did a mock with him and got him later. Not sure why the Niners did not fill a need at CB yet.

But if they get McGill and Moncrief in the second round, that would be pretty good although I am not sold that McGill can really cover at the NFL level yet.

After thinking about this, I agree with you. I hope they take Nix in the 2nd to eat up blockers so Shazier and Timmons can get to the ball quickly. So do you think they should take a d-lineman in the 2nd?

I think everyone on this board probably thinks that Tuitt and Nix have the talent to have been first rounders and I agree. I would like them to draft a d-lineman since I think they are the best value where they are and I don't see a huge drop off from wr and cb like I do in the d-line after about the next 4 or 5 guys. If they have the athletes they do playing lb you don't want them to get tied up with blockers so I think Tuitt or Nix are my top two choices with Hageman behind them. I'm conflicted about who I want them to take though. Nix would fit the Nose takle position great and it's so hard to find a good nt and he would help the rush defence right away. But I think Tuitt has the ability to be great and is more versatile when it comes to scheme and he's a 3 down player as opposed to Nix. Hageman has a huge bust factor to him since his effort isn't always there but he could be similar to Tuitt in how good he could be.

I think they can grab one of the Gaines (Missouri or Rice) in the third and I think that is about as good a cb as you can get after the big 5 guys who already went. If none of Tuitt, Nix or Hageman are there when the STeelers pick I think (I think it will be unlikely since there will be a QB run soon) you have to just grab the best player who could be Matthews or Montcrief. The second round has a ton of talent, that is for sure

If this happens, I really hope Cody Latimer falls to us

Dude, just stop. That's the same kind of misinformation bullshit that gets slung at Shembo all the time.

You're not serious, are you? Shembo touched a boob. Lewan threatened to rape a girl if she rattled on his rapist friend, who was dissociated in a strongly worded public letter the day after his graduation.

In an alternate universe where a small, head case QB with bad footwork and poor accuracy can be ‘good’ in the NFL,??… I'm confident I don't have much to worry about that. I have as good a chance of being a good NFl QB as that punk does.

This kind of shit cracks me up

48. Baltimore Ravens: Cody Latimer, Indiana, WR
Joe Flacco needs more weapons on the perimeter to show skeptics that he is a viable franchise quarterback. Latimer's size, speed and quickness could make him a star in the Ravens' passing game.

Oh. Is that why he needs weapons? It wouldn't be because he and the Ravens want to win games? Nope, it's so he can prove skeptics wrong. :banghead2

Lots of good DL still on the board. If there is a run on QBs early in round 2 then some really great talents are going to fall into the 40s and 50s. Off the top of my head there is still Hageman, Sutton, Ealy, Tuitt and Nix. That's ridiculous for round two and I hope the Bears get a shot at that group (save Ealy, I don't really care for him).

Perfect fit, I'd be very happy for him with that organization. They do things the right way.

I think people aren't realizing that he back to 300 pounds, he's basically impossible to block at that weight

I don't know much about that guy, but a lot of Steelers fans like Demarcus Lawrence too.

Agreed, he's a special talent and I bet Tomlin will be able to manage the weight from becoming an issue again. I didn't know much about Lawrence until about two weeks ago. We need edge pass rushers and he seems like the best available on the board at this point. Some chatter that we might even trade up to make sure we get him. I don't like that idea since there are others like Crichton, Murphy, Jeffcoat etc. that can still be drafted. He would be my #1 DE at this point so I hope he's there.

Cleveland made a splash in drafting Johnny Manziel, but coach Mike Pettine says the team still plans to start Brian Hoyer, via USA Today Lindsay Jones.

I really like Crichton as well. For Jeffcoat and Murphy I should have mentioned that it would be based on where you draft them. Jeffcoat in the 3 to 4 and Murphy in the late 2nd to 3rd. I'd take those picks. The only two that I'd take at 47 would be Lawrence and Crichton with Lawrence having an advantage.

IK you can't see this but it's hilarious that you keep bringing this bullshit up while talking out the other side of your mouth about wanting them to take Bridewater. Teddy is small, has nearly the same completion % stats, tiny glove wearing hands, and a lower wonderlick score.

In a perfect world JFF doesn't play a down this year. But if he does and he's as terrible as you say in your professional opinion than it's a good thing we already picked up what will likely be a top 12 pick next year.

I'm not talking about what either one did or did not do, I'm talking about what people SAY they did. Calling Lewan a rapist (as the poster I quoted did) is equally as false as calling Shembo a rapist (as many people do). His guilt in other regards, however awful, does not warrant the label "rapist" any more than yelling "I'm going to kill you" in a fist fight warrants the label "murderer."

Yes, Lewan is a despicable person by all accounts but let's reserve the term "rapist" for guys who have, you know, raped someone.

Gruden was a bit over the top with all the Johnny Football hype last night. I swear if the Colts would've had a first round draft pick, Gruden still would've been trying to convince the viewing audience that the Colts should pick Manziel.

2014 NFL draft: Rounding up the winners and losers of Round 1 - NFL - Sporting News

Losers: AFC Super Bowl contenders. It was a “meh” end of the draft for the conference co-favorites, the Broncos and Patriots. It’s a head-scratcher why Denver went for the coverage-limited, character risk in cornerback Bradley Roby over the guard it needed for win-now mode — either UCLA's Xavier Su’a-Filo or Nevada’s Joel Bitonio. New England also couldn’t shake its love of Florida players by taking Dominique Easley, instead of two better, just as versatile Notre Dame defensive line prospects, Louis Nix III and Stephon Tuitt.

Its funny you say that. Me and two of my buddies were at the MAC club in Portland Last night They refused to put the sound on for the draft (don't get me started on that, haha) but when they first showed Gruden my buddy looks at us and said does Gruden looked F'd up right now and we both agreed without having to hear him.

Interesting take about Nix and Tuitt being the "better" options. Everything else I've read says that Easley has higher upside (i.e. "better," more talent), but is simply a riskier pick due to his injury history. I have to trust that if they made the pick, they had the full green light from team doctors.

I think it's also fair to point out that both Nix and Tuitt also have injury histories so it's not like they'd get a clean player either way. For selfish reasons I would have rather seen them take an ND guy.
