Anyone know more about Jimmy Ward? I was hoping that the Niners could trade up and get a bigger, better DB than another small DB who will get abused by Hawks WRs next year.

He is a safety by trade who will be playing nickle back for the 9ers this year. shrug.

So who are best available now? Seems like Nix and Tuitt would be hard for just about any team to pass up on pure value at this point. Now I am REALLY wishing the Bears had traded down for an extra pick.

I said the same thing as soon as we all saw how the draft was playing out and guys that were thought to go really high were falling a bit. I told my buddy, "trade up and grab Donald OR trade down for more picks and take a defensive player who's still great value."

I don't hate the pick by any means (although I don't know much about him). I was shocked however that they passed on Clinton-Dix and Pryor. I thought for sure if either of those two were available, they'd grab one. (If I'm Emery last night, once Donald came off the board, I'm trading down a few spots and grabbing one of Ha HA or Calvin.) Back to Fuller...I'm just not sure I see the logic in taking a DB when Peanut and Jennings are locked in already. Seems they could've grabbed this guy in the next round, idk.

-I'd do Barr and Lewan's moms, in that order.

-I literally went on a Turret's cussing spree when the Titans drafted Lewan. Being a michigan guy is bad...but the fact that he is a dirty, raping piece of shit who went to michigan put me over the edge and won't ever allow me to cheer for him.

I have no idea. Like I said, I don't know much about him or the situation. It was just my gut reaction. It's not like he's at a position they don't need some help though, so I'm totally good with it. I guess I just heard a lot of hype about them taking Donald or a S in round one so I was surprised.

re: his immaturity/off the field stuff: i was 20 once...(a long time ago)...i was given second chances by many around me at that time. all these kids this age deserve a chance to redeem themselves in my view.

any kid who puts up 700+ yards in 2 games vs a Bama defense like he did should at least be given the benefit of the doubt from a football persepctive.

Exactly what I was thinking. He certainly won't be able to cover anyone on an island, which is what the Niners NEED, badly.

Where did I say I thought they had to fill their d line needs in the first round? The only players i mentioned were Tuitt, Nix and Hageman, and they are all available today so I have no idea where you got that. Also you were the one saying that they should go wr and cb in the second and third. I just pointed out you don't go for a player that you could get a comparable one to in third when you have 3 of the top d lineman all available. Wr need is always overblown, once you get past the elite ones I think you can find a good one later. Although I do think Lee is elite and he is still available so if he's there when Pitt picks there has to be some consideration over him for sure.

After thinking about this, I agree with you. I hope they take Nix in the 2nd to eat up blockers so Shazier and Timmons can get to the ball quickly. So do you think they should take a d-lineman in the 2nd?

I have no problem going CB given that the Bears' youngest starter there is 30. Obviously thry have multiple needs and I agree they should have gone after a safety if Pryor or Clinton-Dix are better players. Basically, I'm neither excited nor mad about the pick. Trading down would have been a good option but I can't say if they were getting worthwhile offers to do so.

Okay, so it's the morning after Art moved the team to Baltimore basically... Living with a team that isn’t hiding the fact they aren’t in it to win but rather in it to sell tickets… My only hopes lie in:

1.) They draft a REAL quarter back today, Murray, Carr, McC… anyone who can actually play.
2.) When they don’t they’ll just be back in a minimum of two years to draft ANOTHER QB in the first round so it’s not like this will last long.

Pretty much ready to ignore the NFL in the meantime... which come on, I'm a life long Browns fans, it's pretty easy to ignore the NFL when it comes down to it.
