I'm confused - OSU is pissed with Henning or ND is? Or both?

I don’t think any team is mad at him. OSU, in my opinion, feels like they have bigger fish to go after. Notre Dame wants Henning to shit or get off the pot. They want him in the class asap

The rumor is that ND feels like Henning should have committed already. It's a situation where he says we lead, but from the outside it feels like he's just waiting on someone else to come along and sweep him off his feet. Basically we likely lead, and if you had money on it you'd have to pick ND, but there's a chance we are in for some drama.

Yes this, basically. IMO, given his injury history, if ND is still high on him he should just commit already. I do agree he is waiting for somebody bigger and better to come along, but that ain't happen . . . at least not yet anyway.

I've paid zero attention to the recruitments of AJ Henning and Chris Tyree.

I just watched both of their sophomore hudl films. I watched Tyree's first, and was very impressed. He has elite speed and takes no time getting there, nor does he lose any when he changes direction. He's a home run.

I have no idea who has better track/40 times, but I then watched AJ Henning's, and I don't think he has Chris Tyree's football speed, but the's still really fast. After the first few highlights I was thinking I'd prefer Tyree, but Henning grew on me. He just has a "football player" vibe to him, plays with passion and energy. And he's still really fast.

Chris Tyree seems like a classic 2010-Oregon player and they don't seem to come her. AJ Henning I don't have a comparison for, but I just really like him as a player. Not sure who I'd prefer. Would be thrilled with either (or both).

Who does ND stand the best shot with?

And how do you guys compare them on your wish list?

Edit: Just viewed their offer list. Chris Tyree is going to be a stud and the big dogs obviously noticed. But Henning doesn't have the same level of offers. Teams are sleeping on him IMO.

Henning’s got 27 FBS offers including Ohio State, Penn State, Michigan, Notre Dame, Stanford, LSU, Miami, and Tennessee. Yes he’s missing Alabama, Clemson, Oklahoma, and some west coast schools, but I think his offer list is still top tier. A lot of school down south don’t even bother with recruits up in the Midwest. I think that’s changing now more and more as recruiting gets more nationalized but I’m not overly concerned about AJ Henning’s offer list. He’s a wanted man with that many offers. It would be awesome to have Henning and Tyree in the class together. I hope the staff is able to get Henning on campus again soon after he was snowed out of his last one. I think with another visit ND could potentially seal the deal and stop him from sniffing around.

I want to be clear, he has great offers. But the current mount Rushmore of offers (my newly coined term) is: Alabama, Georgia, Clemson, and OSU, and that's a different level than whatever we call the rest.

He's missing 3 of those and IIRC, Chris Tyree has them all.

Agreed. There’s no debate as to who has the better offer list. Tyree is killing it with his offers and recruitment. He’s got a 5* level recruitment and offer list right now. What I was saying about Henning is he probably has a mid-4* recruitment which is fine. ND would be wise to recruit them both really hard because ND shouldn’t turn their back on any big time recruits. With Jordan Johnson, Henning, and Tyree getting CB’s to ND it has me greedy thinking ND could land potentially 3-4 big time skill position athletes which would be incredible for the roster and amazing for recruiting because ND would likely be competing to actually get inside the top 10 in recruiting.

If ND lands all 4 of them, they will get ratings drops to outside the top 100 composite ranks lol.

Then 247 will look like idiots when these dudes are balling out at combines and events cause these guys are going to All American Games, The Opening, and Rivals 3 Stripe camps. Nana Osafo-Mensah didn’t perform that well apparently at the Army All American bowl so he was dropped and Foskey performed pretty well I think and he was boosted. Difference with this class is I think Tyree is the type of guy who could dominate events like those. If ND lands Jalen Kimber they are basically landing Nick Cross from last year (The Opening scores) and he got a massive bump after he dominated the combines. ND just needs to land dudes that are good and prove it against other good competition. Then they won’t fall in the rankings.

Workout warriors. These camps can give you an idea of the kids ability, but it should be tempered.

A couple of notes.

Do not invite Josh Adams to talk to these kids. They have to be like, "You gotta be an giant to play RB here?" Must be why Bama always has Josh Adams sized RB's.

I wonder how Stephen A Smith's kid's visit went? That's him in the picture above with Adams and Tyree.

So....does anyone care to share where things do in fact stand? just a small summation, nothing verbatim.

With his speed, he could pile up yards behind our big OL.

Just kind of all depends on who you talk to. ND folks think ND is in really good shape right now, we probably lead as of today. However, both Bama and Oklahoma have a lot of confidence surrounding their upcoming OV's. The one significant positive is that both those schools think ND is the biggest competition, not each other, so if it's a top 3, it's really a top 2 with ND likely in that top 2. We get another visit that will be an OV in June.

Kendall Milton 5* RB has had a few major CB's for him to Oklahoma. They already have the #1 athlete and if they land Tyree. Six 5's on the skill position to go along with their 5* QB last year.

Maybe this helps with Tyree? OU Mod on 247 said first come first serve

Seems like general belief is this helps. Never wanted Oklahoma to get a 5 star RB this bad before, lol.

Man, I know they landed three five star WR's last year, got the number one athlete now and Milton is the top back IMO he is truly a special football player.

I've said this before I don't care what Lance Taylor does the rest of the time he's at ND as long as he lands Tyree. Looked how much Dexter helped Ian last year not putting all that pressure on him. We wouldn't have been able to do that with Tony Jones or one of the freshman. I know Tyree and Dex are nothing alike but being able to pick up major chunk plays and just having a homerun threat in the game is just so huge. Who was the last true RB that scared the shit of of defenses? Julius Jones? Dexter was close to that last year. But Tyree would just be so special and another toy for 5* Phil.

Well, Josh Adams avg. almost 7 yds./carry, insane numbers and was one of the best homerun threats in college football. True story.

In terms of speed, just pure speed, Tryee is on a different level than maybe any RB ND has ever had. Obviously Dex is quick and explosive but Tyree is probably running a 4.3 (or lower 40) crushing what Dex put up.

It definitely helps. If Milton commits OU would be sitting with him and Jase McClellan, another five star RB, in the same class. If Tyree didn't say no thanks, OU probably would. Meanwhile, Tyree would be sitting behind two 5 stars and a year behind 4 top 100 RBs at Penn State. Bama has it's process.

By comparison, Notre Dame's #1 at RB converted from wide receiver out sheer necessity of depth and beat out a senior and several dudes recruited at the position. Of the schools with a serious shot, we're the only one Tyree can look at see that he'll be The Guy.

Also, we want Milton to choose OU because the alternative is the Trojans.

That's all I was trying to say. A healthy Josh Adams scared the shit out of defense and was an above average college back. For one season and he just wasn't really healthy his last year. I'm saying from the moment Tyree touches the ball in South Bend it will just be a different speed at that position that we haven't seen in a long, long time. He actually reminds me a little bit of Armando Allen in HS. Not college Armando who was just never healthy and in four years never had a run over 25 yards lol. Just cray to me.

Also he’s not Percy 2.0. I compared him to Armando Allen already
