'20 NE WR Xavier Watts (Notre Dame Man)

He's the first player in NCAA to sit while healthy due to "fatigue" when he barely plays.

Please don't compare him to Fuller or any other star at this point.

Time will tell, but I legitimately think that all three WRs we're bringing in are more talented than every WR currently on the roster with the exception of Austin.

Maybe I misunderstand....but you think Brunelle is more talented than Claypool?

Fuller, besides his blazing speed and despite his suspect hands, was absolutely elite at tracking the ball in the air. Throw the ball high and far, Fuller was adjusting and catching it. Lenzy is almost as fast, but hasn't shown any other top notch traits thus far.

This is where I'd caution that Massachusetts high school football is not very good. Would like to see Brunelle against more elite competition before lining him up as a multi-year starter. But obvs the staff liked what they saw, so that's good.

All I know is that when Brunelle camped at Michigan and ND both staffs thought he was the real deal. He caught everything thrown his direction. As you said, he will get dinged for playing in Massachusetts. That's the main reason why services are reluctant to rate someone high who has his measurables.

The last WR to get an offer at camp was who, Steph? Did Boykin get his offer at camp or before? The staff is normally pretty good at WR evaluation. I also love Brunelle's positional flexibility

Agreed. He's a well put together kid and very physical. After summer camps and such, I compared his measureables to some of the other 'elite' S's we were recruiting and he'd stack up quite well. I could certainly see a future as a SS. With that said, he's got a lot of qualities that could lend themselves to being a productive WR. Either way, he's just a good football player that is being undervalued, IMO.

Agreed. looking at his measurables and his film, this kid is extremely underrated.

Feeling the optimism. Next year's WR rotation: Austin, Lenzy and the 3 freshman. Any takers?

I'll take that. Keys is going to be just fine in the slot, keeping a freshman out of the starting rotation.
Austin - Keys - Lenzy

The exception is if Austin can't stay on the field... Jordan Johnson will start opposite Lenzy.
Johnson - Keys - Lenzy

Either way, I expect Brunelle to get used in four select games early as a Will Fuller special to see what he can do, aka "Run a Go and Catch the Ball"... if he does well, maybe he stays in the rotation the whole year and avoids a redshirt.

Watts is the wildcard. He could end up being the best of the bunch based on what people think of him athletically, or he could end up not playing WR at all depending on how the staff feels about CB depth and development after Spring ball.

I’m not sure which thread it was but Koon predicted one of Keys or Lenzy would be gone. On the II podcast they said that Keys had no problem with Finke playing ahead of him. Keys said that Finke has been a mentor for him the last two years and he really looks up to him. I took Koon on that bet and can’t wait to cash in.

Since both have been able to be interviewed publicly over the last couple of weeks I feel like we can definitively put that to bed. Both seemed very mature and happy with their respective situations.

Wait...you mean Koon was...wrong (gasp)??? How can that be, he has all the inside information?
