How can Bowers be on the Lombardi award list?

It's an award for FREAKING LINEMAN.

I'm thinking Bowers must be shagging some fresh divorcee on the award list committee.

What's even more shocking is the highest graded OL, Alt, isn't even on it. Who the fuck puts these lists together?

Just looked at his profile picture on this opening page. It is straight comedy seeing how skinny he looks.

It's a popularity contest ever year. I feel like we have these same unfortunate discussion every season about these snubs. Alt not being a finalist is an absolute joke, Mayer is clearly the best TE in the nation and that will be reflected next April, yet here we are again.

I can't wait until he runs a 4.7 or 4.8 at the combine and they start the BS that he's too slow to play in the league.

College football individual awards are the absolute worst. All of the sudden Caleb Williams is the Heisman front runner because of one Saturday night in November where people got to see him.

The secondary position awards are even worse. It's all regionally biased voting.

Mayer does have some hops, though. I wouldn't be surprised if he is one of the best testers in the vertical and long jump in Indy.

IIRC Mayer has run his 40 around 4.65. Gronk ran a 4.7 and Kelce a 4.61...There's a lot more to a TE than 40 times, but you're probably right that some of the pundits will see it and question.

I doubt NFL executives will give it much thought, though, when they see his frame at ~270, his route running abilities, NFL ready blocker and the best hands at his position in the country.

He has first round draft grades across the board but TEs are funny...tough to predict. I think he goes it the first round but likely between 15-25.

He's going to. The fix is so obviously in for Bowers.
So is Bowers gonna be the first two-time Mackey Award winner? That’s ridiculous. He’s a great player but the fact that they’re making him a finalist for every offensive award is…offensive.

Not to mention how he will interview. He will impress the shit out of the GM’s he sits with.

I'd be kind of shocked if he could run a 4.65 at his current weight. (265?) He's quicker than fast, to quote that guy.
