Man is he on fire lately. Making the Mackey snub look even worse.

McBride has crazy numbers, but it also came against weaker competition and he plays in an offense that favors the TE. Every other year the TE is the leading receiver in that offense. I'm not sure he's as good as the numbers suggest. Still a good TE for sure, but I don't think he's better than Mayer.
I was the one who said McBride should win it and he did. Mayer is a great tight end, but both McBride and the kid from Georgia had better seasons. Not sure how Addazio's offense favors the TE when they had no running game to speak of this year. CSU's top WR, Dante Wright, missed half the season too so McBride was the only threat. Maybe their schedule is weaker, but ND's opponents laid an egg this year too. Both teams played Toledo and McBride was 9-109 (only 11 passes completed) and Mayer was 7-81-2. McBride also had 100+ against their only SEC opponent and 6 cathces against Iowa. Previous season he had 6 catches and 1 TD against Florida. Mayer missed a game too (don't think they considered that because Hamilton and London from SC still were honored).
I think all three of these TE's will be first or at worst second round picks.
sooo whats the scuttlebutt on the rumor that Alabama offered Mayer big NIL money to jump ship to them?
Tim O'Malley did a "What if" scenario with Mayer to Alabama. I don't think there was anything legit to it.sooo whats the scuttlebutt on the rumor that Alabama offered Mayer big NIL money to jump ship to them?
I have Athlon and Lindy's CFB magazines sitting here and he's on the cover of both. A tight end.
I look at it as the glass is half full, but part of me wishes it was a QB instead.
You do realize they do a lot of regional cover pages?I have Athlon and Lindy's CFB magazines sitting here and he's on the cover of both. A tight end.

Alright... let's not get in the habit of bumping this thread all willy nilly.

From left to right: Travis Kelce, Greg Olsen, and George Kittle. All three future HOF TEs. Olsen is retired now, but Kelce and Kittle are widely regarded as the best TEs in the league.Don't watch NFL. Who are these folks
olson originally was supposed to be a ND man i believe. That said...please don't post in this thread unless he has a serious injury. I have a lot on my plate rn with bar prep. I dont need to be having an unneeded panic attack when I log onto IE.
While that is true, keep an eye on Kyle Pitts. Remember he left Florida after three years. so he will prosper from seasoning and/or leaving the Falcons. With all due deference to the McAfees, Eiferts and others, Pitts was the best receiving tight end I have ever seen in college. From left to right: Travis Kelce, Greg Olsen, and George Kittle.
