I am extremely excited for this guy to get going. I think he’s got ALynch type ability, and a tough mentality. Let’s just hope he can get everything else together and stay out of trouble.

Man, I thought a GF is South Florida was long distance...

Any reason to expect him to have problems in other areas? I don’t remember ever having any off the field problems with the kids from Hawaii.

Other than the fightIng incident, I have no reason. I don’t recall his academic standing in high school. It just seems like he has a chip on his shoulder. That’s probably what makes him a good football player. I guess I’m just hoping he doesn’t have a huge ego that causes him to lose focus. Aaron Lynch also seemed to have a chip on his shoulder, and I can see that mentality in JB.

the kid threw the first punch at Botelho, and Botelho hit him. Herbig said the kid came to him and he defended himself. I may be biased, but these guys can take care of themselves. They don’t have to go look for a fight.”

I didn’t know the details, nor am I calling him a bad kid. I stated that I am extremely excited for him. He’s one of my favorite pick ups from that class.

I also, do agree that these guys can take care of themselves. All of my children are good kids, but I still tell them to stay out of trouble. Yet I have a couple who welcome it rather than avoid it.

Wasn’t looking to ruffle feathers just hoping for a diamond in the rough, and one that has a trouble free career.

Curious question for any of our resident islanders, I know there are just a few on here...

I have heard/learned(?) in the past month that fighting is common place on the islands, particularly among natives. That kids grow up scrapping for fun and that a side effect of this is grown men who you definitely do not want to mess with...is there any truth to this?

certainly not, but i figured this is what you were hinting at when you said about staying out of trouble and before others started to question what you meant or anything else(as you said you didn't know the details), just wanted to set the record straight about what happened

In all seriousness, yes, we fight a lot. Ethnicity doesn't matter, either, it's a Hawaii thing.

Bluto knows what's up.

will wear #17 as a freshman. Folks on II podcast the other week compared his game to a young Aaron Lynch which has me hype.

Young Aaron Lynch?
We never even had an old Aaron Lynch lol.

Dude dominated his freshman year. There was some crazy stat about how he had more Qb hurries his freshman year than the entire line had the previous year.

Dominated off the edge on passing downs yes. Against the run? He was not that good.

Updated to 6'2 1/2, 248 lbs. at und.com. I'm just glad this guy plays for us. I wouldn't want to play against him. I posted on Mills already. Foskey is a ripped 6'4+ 250+. These guys are ready to go.

Seems like if he had an extra two inches of length he would've been a 5 star prospect

I said, "we never had an old Aaron Lynch".

As in, we only had him as a frosh. Unless they were trying to compare Jordan to young Aaron year, opposed to "old" Aaron at USF.

Bingo.

But should anyone care that he's only 6-2?

Khalil Mack
Shaquil Barrett
Von Miller

They've all dominated the League at his size/position.

And, they can play in as many games as they want and keep a RS year. Works out pretty good.
