I don't care if people want to hate on Loy but EJ Holland had a post that was very similar to what Loy was saying.

Can you show me that? I ask because from what I remember EJ specifically said to fans to slow down even though he knew other analysts were saying ND was in the lead. He said he was not ready to say that. Unless, I'm not remembering this accurately, EJ said ND was in it, but he was not ready to say ND was the leader.

I don't hate on Loy here. ND was very much in the mix here and at certain points after the unofficial visit, the staff believed they were out in front.

From his Lucky Charms last night. The info is basically the same. Loy just had ND with a slight lead within a tight battle and Holland gave UW the edge within a really tight battle. But the meat and potatoes was the same. Both said there is still confidence in South Bend. McMillan did not commit on the visit as a positive. Expectations were that he'd still take his OV, etc, all similar.

No matter how many times you try, FresNO always ends with a NO.

Loy just needs to stop when we are going head to head against Washington. He's been wrong on all of them I will give him a break with Asa Turner though because he was on the money with that recruitment. But he had Kyler Gordon, McMillian, Turner, Trice all to ND and ended up at Washington.

I think it is more Loy needs to stop trusting his sources within the Gug when it comes to west coast prospects. They seem to have the entirely wrong read on kids and Loy needs to have an alternative source that doesn't involve someone in the Gug.

I would bet Loy feels the same way too and probably will start looking at other sources when it comes to prospects like this.

If it is a head to head against Washington down the stretch, take UW.

Wasn't basically everybody wrong about Trice?

Correct. And, it should be noted that Kyler Gordon told the ND staff he was coming after his OV. Similarly, so did Julius Irvin before mom's health troubles. Asa Turner was preparing to sign an ND LOI on NSD, lol.

Not much else you can do than report precisely what the kid said. Some of these kids change their minds or lie. That's life. ND didn't miss read their position with Foskey, Rutherford, Jack Lamb, Jarrett Patterson, Aaron Banks, etc.

Sure, maybe everybody was. I was just naming names of kids that Loy had pegged to ND and they all chose Washington.

Only reason I brought up Trice is since you kinda gave Loy a pass for Asa. So I couldn't remember if I was forgetting when people realized that Trice wasn't coming to ND or not

I was just giving Loy props because he was all over that recruitment just like he was with Dalein Hayes. So you wanna get behind him when he gets excited or has inside info that very few have but then he misses on certain things or throws in to early CB's.

I am not gonna sit here and rip Loy the guy works his ass off and truly cares about his job. I just don't like how he goes about his business or when he is wrong he tries to spin it and stuff. Just from talking to other ND mods or former mods they will say the same thing. Just a different dude and wasn't the best of friends with others on the beat. He loves to gloat when he is wrong and the reason everyone rips him and makes fun of him on other sites is how he tries to spin it and think he was right all along instead of just taking the L. I know for a fact from another former or current ND mod that it drove them fucking nuts

Washington dropped to 4-2 last night. Their schedule doesn’t really let up the rest of the way. Washington could easily go 7-5 or 8-4. Time to start kicking tires on Mr. McMillan.

That's the best Jimmy Lake could come up with for Stanford last night?

From what I remember, ND would not only take him regardless of numbers, they'd prolly stash Der Panzer in an Austrian safehouse for the 2020 season.. . or as they call it in America, gray shirt him.

Huffman never took his ND OV for SC off his timeline. An oversight? A clue?

This favor given to Lake by Peterson & Kwiatkowski hasn't worked out like they planned. The D is worse and Lake is still there. Bad thing is, Lake isn't going to look like the next star rising if they go 7-5. UDub needs Pete K back in 100% control of the D.

D got gashed repeatedly up the middle by draw plays, linebackers were not effective last night filling gaps. Then trying to match up 5'9" D's with their tight ends is just not an effective strategy. Thankfully we have Kyle Hamilton to help with that.

Offensively, yikes. Stanford couldn't stop the run so of course UW just went all pass. Hopefully our run game continues to progress and we just ram it down their throat to finish the season.

Stanford was playing 3 true freshmen on the OL last night (I think that's what I heard)

Walter Rouse looked good in the two drives I saw. He was a 5* OT to me. Oh to have him and Tosh Baker manning the OT's during ND's NC season in 2021...

Don’t know if I want Washington to lose to improve our chances with McMillan, or Oregon to lose to keep our slim playoff chances alive. I’m leaning Washington because eff Jimmy Lake.

With Peterson stepping down I wonder if this opens the door for movement here. Loy is adamant that we are still involved in this recruitment.

There's a reason Fresno ends in no. I say unlikely at best. Just my opinion though.

Beat me to it. Would be an awesome coup if we pulled it off, but I would not believe anything about this being a possibility unless some key people told me otherwise.

Seems like the classic recruitment that is used by sites for clicks only for the recruit to do the expected.

If it would be possible to get MacMillan and have Watts move to DB, instead upgrade on both sides. But I’m not getting my hopes up

This is about the most stable coaching change that could ever happen. Petersen is staying on in an advisory role and Jimmy Lake is promoted to head coach - not exactly a breeding ground for poaching recruits. Especially since players love Jimmy Lake.

Perhaps but this development on top of ND having a substantially better season would suggest more overall program stability in South Bend.

I think them going 7-5 gives us more of a chance than Peterson leaving.

But either way I'm done getting my hopes up for elite skill positions flips.

Specially from FresNOOOOO

McMillan was just added to the Targets section on II after being removed back when he committed. Loy indicated it was an oversight to remove him in the first place and that he was correcting it. Still, things that make a hopeful poster ponder...
