Earlier in the year BK said something drastic would have to happen to play Sebastian. I wonder if this is that something.

Not saying Fortuna isn't a tool from time to time, but I think it was a jab at the online bro's of the world that salivate over the athleticism of these guys, but they fail to translate to success on the field:
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr"><a href="https://twitter.com/bobnd80">@bobnd80</a> Nada. I'm just under the impression from Twitter that all 3 are God's gift to the gridiron & the coaches are idiots for missing it.</p>— Matt Fortuna (@Matt_Fortuna) <a href="https://twitter.com/Matt_Fortuna/status/681923789119094785">December 29, 2015</a></blockquote>

That said, I'm not even surprised anymore when we lose another player to injury/suspension. Injuries will happen, although I've never seen a program get hit as hard as us for the last two years. Hell, even 2013 was bad. Suspensions though, that's on Redfield and whatever he did he was stupid for blowing an opportunity like this.

Good points.

Notre Dame would love that.

Once Luke and Watkins/Coleman are gassed, it wouldn't take a world-beater to make plays against our secondary.

There are six healthy players on the back end. I'd make at least 5 of them run in coverage for the entire first half if I'm an opposing coach. Turn it into a war of attrition, pound away with Elliot when appropriate.

I hope Kizer is ready for the shootout. Game on.

He's just so fucking snarky about everything. He thinks it makes him look intelligent, but it has the opposite effect. And his writing is shit.

I just can't believe that he's the guy ESPN pays to cover us full time. He effectively sucks at his job, and is rather anti-ND on a lot of levels.

Which is probably why ESPN pays him to cover ND.

Same as the Stanford game. I didn't think we'd be able to stop them much fully healthy and this certainly doesn't help.

Right, that's how I took it too. I thought it was a fair point.

Don't get me wrong, from the standpoint of safety depth this suspension blows, even if it is only for one game. But if his point was that fans often give Redfield and players like him more credit than they deserve because they were highly-rated, highly-recruited prospects, despite the fact that they haven't proven on the field that they are worth the hype, I think it's fair. That viewpoint has to be frustrating for a reporter like him, a sportswriter who wants to focus on what happens on the field, not recruiting.

Imagine if we blew out Boston College and KVR was on the sideline resting instead of playing in the 4th quarter.

Can Jaylon play safety? 40% serious...

Things could get ugly on Friday...

If things are supposed to get ugly then they will get ugly with or without Max Redfield. He is simply just not good and it might be a blessing in disguise that he got sent home

Redfield + Butler though. I disagree that any safety behind him on the depth chart is better.

Farley hasn't shown me anything for me to say Redfield is better. The difference is that Redfield was a 5:s: and Farley wansn't

It's not really about Redfield v. Farley. It's Redfield v. whoever replaces Farley. ...if I understand the depth chart correctly.

All I know is every single team I create in Fanduel for NYD games will have Barrett as the QB, and a cheap B.Miller at WR.

6 players healthy in the defensive backfield? Not to worry, we can just drop our best pass rusher Okwara into coverage every 5th play like BVG loves to do.

Hey if we send Schmidt on an A gap blitz RIGHT NOW, maybe he will get into the backfeild to sack the QB by the time the game starts in a 4 days.

Hunter Jr. might get some time on D?

If he can make the tackle. ... Because if he misses everyone else will be running in circles waving their hands frantically because he wasn't there to show them where to line up.

With Farley starting at FS there is no nickel corner. So yeah I expect Hunter to be in on every nickel situation.

Good, I like that...think there is plenty potential he makes a big play from that spot. He'll still be able to play every snap needed on offense.
