Won the battle of the ATL commits last night vs KJ Wallace.

Marist the #2 team in 4A beat Lovett the #7 team in 3A 40-20 after leading 33-0 at halftime.

Had an INT and over 100 yds receiving including a 60 yd TD.

I was there. He "Moss'd" Wallace on the 60 yard TD. The kid is a real athlete.

Just watched his tape and I'm very impressed. My impressions:

--Has a second gear, once he identifies where he needs to be he has a long stride and closes quickly. I don't think the 4.8 time he was clocked at doesn't match what I see on the field.
--As everyone has said a ball hawk, but not just in the "I can identify/break on dumb/poorly thrown balls", but can fight for it through contact on balls that the receiver should have had.
--Has super long reach and has a good understanding of what the ball is doing. Pretty much the anti-Gary Gray in that sense. This also helps with the previous point.
--Plays physical against runners and blew up a good number of blocks. Maybe not a "big hitter" and I don't know how it'll translate against D1 TE's/fullbacks (then again he's not playing linebacker) but I think the average wide receiver is going to get blown up. That's a nightmare for teams trying to do short passes/screens which we see a ton of with spread offenses.

Kid looks like a bonna fide stud free safety stud, and that's a very rare skillset.

Just to be clear on how 247 gives out stars. By the end of the cycle, there will be 32 5 stars to mock the 32 first round NFL draft picks. So, if he remains at 22, he'll be a 5 star according to 247. He's also the #2 S which is 4 spots ahead of Nick Cross and 8 spots ahead of Brian Williams.

I doubt he's at risk. He could've went almost anywhere he wanted prior to commitment. He chose ND for the right reasons. Was a legitimate take for OSU, UGA, etc. and still chose ND.
