They certainly milked the “I didn’t get a shot” narrative on air tonight. Didn’t mention the “I didn’t win the job and take that with grace” narrative

Talking a lot that he's struggling with shoulder issues.

SI ran the story... some of it is over the top. Acted like he never through a bad pass till after the Clemson game. Not saying the narrative is 100% BS, but he's thrown plenty of bad passed prior to, and during the Clemson game.

If his shoulder is THAT BAD to where his performance was tonight, he shouldn't have been playing. But I call BS on that narrative anyway.

All I'll say is if he legit believes he didn't get a fair shake....I have zero respect for him

I was hoping good things for him initially, but he seems to overly slamming ND.
So I really just don't care now. He went from being an X-ND guy that went somewhere else to get PT, to just a mouthy whiner with a grudge.

What did he say today?

Can someone ban this child. Obvious troll, then has no balls to come back after the first drive.

He's had a hard on for Phil for awhile. Trashed Book, one of those guys. I'll never get why some fans won't support the QB that sticks around giving 100% and swoon for the backup transfers.

He hates Kelly with an unhealthy passion so BK picked Book therefore he hates Book.

It's just a shame that he had 2 INTs dropped and another called back on a laughable penalty. For all his talk and the narratives on broadcast about "practicing mad" and "show the world" he was one of the worst QBs we've seen this year.

Thank goodness ND was built for 2020. Book was the obvious choice for ND this year. Hopefully the Book that played vs. Clemson & BC keeps showing up. Sky's the limit as long as Lea can re-match the O's play.

Regardless how 5*Phil plays in '21 or '22, this was the better outcome. It might be hard to watch him outperform ND's QB's in the next two season (IF that happens) but with ND peaking in '20 & Book being better now, it made anything that Phil becomes expendable.

And his touchdown was an infamous Denard Robinson duck

He can argue he's better than he showed tonight, but he can't argue that Book was exceptional tonight, and is rightfully the starter.

What did he say today?

Not specifically today, but they mentioned an interview he did (assuming it was this week), and interviews they had with the team, that he felt he didn't get treated fairly at ND, it's personal, and his teammates said he was practicing angry this week.

Doubt it happens. Book 2021, Buchner 2022....

Have a tough time imagining Book will come back after this year. He's just played so many snaps in an ND uniform that he'll probably think it's time to move on.

If Hamilton had caught that it was basically an automatic pick six.

I probably would have watched that highlight back about 50 times by now if it had happened lol.

If he wins the NC, I can see him moving on. If not, why rush to go be UDFA QB that ends up on a practice squad. And if coaching is his goal, no need to rush that as it will always be there. BK I'm sure would take him as a GA when he decides to stop, or if he doesn't get a contract.

He's looking special right now, and I think he can get better still. If he could keep improving this year, and maintain through next year, he'd be a Heisman contender.

And just maybe, he loves to play. He's big man on campus. Why leave that earlier than you have to when your likely landing spot is little man on the PS, or GA. And a grad degree doesn't hurt.

I was rooting for him too, but he really came off poorly. I feel pretty confident that the coaches wanted him to win the job with his size and tools. Too bad he turned into a tool.

Phil didn't show much outside of a few school yard scrambles and long completions off of broken plays. That sort of stuff doesn't hold up over the course of a game vs a really good team and definitely doesn't hold up over a full season.

Hopefully for his sake, this humbles him a bit. He still has a lot of talent.

OK. I thought I saw all of it and didn't think it was a big deal but if he said that stuff this week, yeah bad look. The interview I saw I thought he went out of his way to be complimentary to his former teammates, ND and his ND experience. Anyway, with that said, whatever, who cares it's BC.

Tbf it sounded to me like it was the other BC players that went public with the bad blood in speaking with the game crew about it. I think Phil was probably open about it to his teammates, which is fine.
