Kid has some lethal sophomore film. Outstanding blitzer and definitely not afraid to take on blockers in the hole. Going to be a machine when he adds twenty pounds. Didn't see any film of him in coverage
That pool thing is cool.
But I am beginning to believe the '18 linebacker haul is going to be much more so.
I am thinking from a couple of little bits I have heard it is going to be off the charts.
Also, there is another recruit saying some nice and telling things about ND.
....and whoooooo might that be?
(Better be some good news on Gant)
We see you and that wife-beater tan. He is soo Region.

Is this the best class we've had 18 months before signing day? Is it shaping up to be one of the best we've ever had?
I was just in Nashville during the SEC media days and I heard multiple players now in NFL from Bama say that Alabama's defense was the most difficult defense they ever had to learn.
I would like to think they guys enrolling at ND have the same mental capacity or greater than those playing FB in Tuscaloosa.
So why does Saban get praised for his NFL defensive schemes and how difficult it is why BVG's gets ridiculed for his being too difficult and NFL like?
Because Notre Dame fans are a bitter bunch. However, there are many factors that play into the fact of Bama having more success.
A. Alabama gets the nation's top recruits on the defensive side of the football each year. Talent takes over at points and wins games.
B. Alabama has had their share of trouble stopping teams. I would take their defense over ND's, but lets not act like the are some defense that teams can't score on. They get and force turnovers, which is the biggest difference in comparing Notre Dame Alabama's defense in my opinion. They gave up 37 to Ole Miss and 40 to Clemson last year.
Alabama forced 27 turnovers last fall, while Notre Dame forced 14.
C. The time at Alabama is spent differently. Yes, Alabama is easier on the school side, but they are recruiting a different kid than Notre Dame. Notre Dame kids understand there is life after football and a guy like Max Redfield I am sure loves and cares about football, but he also knows he is going to be successful regardless of if he makes the league.
Alabama...you're not going there for a degree or networking. You are going there to make the NFL and if you can't pick up the defense, then you're not going to play and you're not going to that money you dreamed of.
D. Alabama doesn't play a ton of freshmen. They let their kids get in the system and learn it. Notre Dame fans need to realize that a kid like Josh Barajas/Asmar Bilal isn't a bad player because they didnt play as a freshmen. I think ND fans are really hard on saying a kid is a bust after just a few years, when it takes time to play at a high level in college, esp when they aren't getting the elite players in the country.

18 certainly has the potential to be one of the best classes ever if we keep landing top 247 recruits and maybe another 5 star or two. It's all relative though. Some classes have higher star power but it's more about filling our positional needs like DB's last year for instance. A #1 - 5 star QB and four 4 star top 247 recruits to boot to kick things off makes me very optimistic though.
Go Irish!
Let's slow down a bit here, "best ever" is really pushing it. It's off to a surprising amazing start but we had a lot of things fall in our place so far. Staff needs to keep their foot on the gas IMO if Phil didn't commit it would be off to a "good start" Phil's commitment you really can't stress how big it really was. Getting the number two QB in the country every commit and most importantly offense talent looks at that. Also helps with the 2017 class but I would be a little surprised if it was better than the 2013 class.
Let's hope the chips getting landing in our favor but we need to continue with the momentum and see where it goes. Every year ND fans are always "this class is off to a good start but JUST WAIT TILL NEXT YEAR" Every flipping year, we have a lot of things in our favor in 2018 and we just need to capitalize on those things.

This in particular needs more attention. The fact is that when Alabama has their best defenses, it's generally a group of upperclassmen. Take a look at last year's starting 11:
DE: A'Shawn Robinson - Junior
NG: Darren Lake - Senior
DE: Jarran Reed - Senior
OLB: Dillon Lee - Senior
ILB: Reggie Ragland - Senior
ILB: Denzel Devall - Junior
CB: Cyrus Jones - Senior
CB: Marlon Humphrey - Sophomore
S: Geno Smith - Senior
S: Eddie Jackson - Junior
You have a starting lineup comprised of 10 upperclassmen at 11 positions and quality depth at every spot. If an underclassmen is playing, he's usually an elite recruit that has come on strong. Simply put, Alabama isn't playing guys like Jonathan Bonner, Te'Von Coney, Nick Watkins or Andrew Trumbetti unless they have utterly balled out in practice.

You're not the only one.I'm a huge fan of this kids film and what I think he can eventually grow into. At similar stages, I like him more than Adams, if that means anything. Not to be a knock on Adams, I just really like Bauer.
Back on campus Tuesday with the talk with the staff today per ISD
Take it however you want
