Just want to post this here, because I did some research on this on my own. For those worried about the "inciting a riot" and "racially charged tweet" accusation, here's the tweet that got him suspended. (WARNING: contains NSFW racist language) https://twitter.com/Micah_parsons23/status/786037476204904448

As you can see, it was white students making racially charged statements, and Parsons saying that he wanted to transfer. That, in the eyes of the private school, was HIM being disruptive.

I gotta say, it's abundantly clear to me that Parsons was in the right and the school was in the wrong. I give him credit for sticking to his guns.

I feel like there has to be more to this story than just that tweet, but wow, what were those girls thinking?

When you insert the word stupid in front of it that gives it a more negative connotation.

Whether you put any word in front of it doesn't really make it any more or less hateful. But the continued use in the slang form undermines everything imo.

It does unfortunately, but to try and explain that to someone who uses it day in and day out to ones hommies, and what not, they just tell you that you don't understand, or you don't live it, so it don't pertain to you. I had this argument with a college teammate back in the 90's, and it went nowhere, lol

This recruitment has Noah Spence written all over it.

Just got off the line with two people that are knowledgeable, one about PA, Harrisburg, and the other about these kids.

Harrisburg appears to be relatively close to Philly suburbs, and it is. But the Appalachian foothills cut across between. Philly has Catholics, as does Western Pa (Pittsburgh, etc.) But to this day Harrisburg, (Pa's tenth largest city) is redneck as hell. On the call my friend reminded me of a really prominent ND grad that grew up in the area, that had lots of problems with residents over just being Catholic, fifty - sixty years ago. It hasn't changed much apparently.

More than it's redneck ways, it shares other traits with such repressive communities, it is incestuous as hell. Nobody from the outside's going to fit in. Let alone if they are different!

And that is indeed what happened here. Kind of like a darkside, negative version of Remember the Titans. Racism won out overall, the team didn't come together, and the team certainly didn't win!

So don't judge anything about either Quon or Parsons based upon what has or hasn't been reported. And by the way, that may be one of the reasons PSU isn't getting it for Micah, either. Kid may need to get away, out of state.

I'm not saying this kid won't flip at some point, but I'd be shocked if it were ND. This has Larry Johnson and OSU written all over it.

Plus Penn St is #1 in '18 class rankings. We'd either inch much closer or take over that spot - not that it really matters as its so early but would add some salt to the wounds for sure.

I have seen Paraons tweet ND related stuff a few times lately and again today.

Hmm

Parson keeps tweeting pro ND. He recently, and I butchered it, I am sure, tweeted that story from last fall on bleacher report.

Go look up the story and watch it. I think this is significant. Because perception is everything, and this is what is important to Micah.

idk. He tweeted a lot of pro-Ohio State stuff back when he was offered by them, too. I'll admit though that there does some to be a lot more tweets for the ND offer, and more sustained.

While we're psychoanalyzing a teenager's tweets...

That could just be girl problems... or perhaps not? While we're speculating wildly, I wonder if he felt Penn State wasn't going to honor his "package deal."

Last page someone mentioned eyes of a private school. CD is a public school in the Harrisburg suburbs. Very large school district with two high schools (CD and CD East).

Harrisburg itself is severely impoverished. Some young college grads are starting to move there a little, but it's a rough city to be in. They play all their home games on Saturday afternoons to try and limit potential violence/crime at the games. I've had about 4 kids at the juvenile facility I teach at from Harrisburg, and their lives were very interesting. One even was part of a robbery/murder 3 weeks after being released...

I would be genuinely interested to see what his grades are like, because I do have reservations that a kid from Harrisburg could pull off the grades needed to get into ND. He is a dominate player to say the least, and would obviously be a massive get. Buddy of mine coaches at Pottsville, so I will look to try and make that game this year to see Parsons and Anderson-Butts.

HAHAHAHHAHAHAH seriously? That's 100% not about football and about some girl that did him wrong

And called him names, and made him want to go out of state, to a place with better values, more consistent with his own.
