That first play against Adoree Jackson is still the best thing ever. I was also at that game, was a lot of fun.
Oh to have a QB who can hit the open, deep receiver again...

I want to get excited about potentially landing a kid like this, but BK's ND tenure has proven anaemic for that position so I'm not sure getting this kid matters anyway. I can't believe that CJS hasn't gotten a chance to shine there. Carlisle, outside of a couple of games, never amounted to anything. The most productive slot guy we've seen was Manti's buddy (name escapes me), and he technically wasn't even a BK guy.

Tyler Eifert= best slot receiver coached by BK.

Probably irrelevant, but Chase Hounshell called us Notre Lame when he bolted for the south, then achieved enlightenment and returned to us, and put in five hard knocks and no negative personal issues here.

Young men say stupid stuff fairly regularly.

It's all about maturity.

It doesn't have an age.

It can set on early, late, or never.

Someday I'm going to chart his 140 catches into:

1. Attached
2. Slot
3. Outside

I wonder how many receptions he had from the TE position? Will he make the Top 15?

Now we return you to the regularly scheduled thread...

Man, I've been saying this for a minute now. You are spot on. It's hard to tell if that's on the coaching staff or CJ. He's made quite a few mental mistakes at crucial times in the game. When the camera pans over to him on the sidelines during games, he often looks bummed out. Ever notice that? Sorry to derail Braden's thread, but the ineffective usage of CJ in the slot stands out.

He will probably have Elko in his ear from day 1 anyway re how switching to corner could be his best career move so that if it is not working out at receiver he probably puts his hand up for a switch to D after Love goes in the first round.
I didn't see many highlights of him as a returner, we need a more dangerous kick/punt returner. He has to be an option with that speed.

Agree with those who don't really see Lenzy as a slot. We just don't use them much. Seems like we'd rather split out a receiving tight end (Tremble?), or go with height. So if Lenzy is effective it's either as an outside burner like Fuller and Stepherson, or because he flips to DB. Probably depends on his ball skills.
On that tape Lenzy's so clearly the fastest kid on the field that he's always open deep. It won't be that way in college. Can he adjust or his whole game running by people?

I don't see Lenzy at CB. Safety if he moves to D. While his recovery speed and the ball skills are there he gets beat at the LOS pretty easy in alot of those clips

I agree with your overall point, but Fuller made a career out of beating guys deep a few times a game. All it takes is one or two plays for him to have a huge impact.

Not sure if I am going about this the right way or if this is even news, but i believe Lenzy just received another Crystal Ball from Demetric Warren from 247 (Dir. of Scouting & Recruiting | Varsitypreps.com... not sure if that carries any weight)

Regardless, I figured this was at the very least, some more positive news!

(Apologies if this was a wasted bump)

ND has a lot of momentum here. If he does end up Irish, I love the Porter/Lenzy trade.

I was in the endzone behind the Irish offense. Fuller had such good separation before Kizer had thrown the ball I remember jumping up at blurting out to no one in particular, "He's got him!".

First one since Tuitt and Lynch?

I almost don't count those because they didn't last long. I don't remember how long Lynch took to flip back(sems it was quick), but Tuitt's only lasted long enough for him to come home to a mad mama! lol
