All I know is that if he does commit to ND, Lax is going to blow an aneurysm .
Nah, I'll hope he does well if he signs.
I just think it's a really bad message to send as a program to recruit a kid who said and did what he did... how do you preach commitment or respect for coaches during the year if you let him back in the fold and he's one of the guys in the locker room?
Since decommitting from Oregon, he's found time to troll a state representative (and obviously the state rep started it) but not to acknowledge his bullshit from that interview or his follow up quotes. It used to be if you called someone a "liar" that meant fists were going to get thrown or guns drawn... now it's just pretend it didn't happen without even an apology. We're talking about a west coast kid with a ton of red flags that's a hard pass for me. I'd be all-in on Keys.

Do people not get how public perception matters? Like, I'm coaching a team of kids Braden's age right now... if someone went on social media and blasted the coaches they'd almost certainly be off the team. It is Team Cancer 101 to have someone on the team that is disrespectful of authority or undermining leadership... when someone is doing that BEFORE THEY ARE EVEN ON THE TEAM that is the biggest red flag of all time.
He has had many opportunities to show contrition publicly and that's what matters... no one cares what is said behind closed doors. If you give someone a free pass then it sends a message to every other prospect out there that they can get away with whatever nonsense they want with no consequences.
He said he was lied to by honorable men. Bush league comment.
But he was goaded by a reporter who was looking for the money quote, and for all we know, he truly thought he was lied to by the ND staff. Maybe it was a true miscommunication of his intentions and how the ND staff would handle it, and he thought he had been lied to?
It doesn't jive with what his dad said about the original decommitment, but there are plenty of kids out there that ignore/disregard what their parents say.

Not true. As has been mentioned multiple times, we really don't know everything that has taken place. Each situation is unique to its own. He may have apologized personally and the staff said that was fine and time to drop it.
So would you be accepting of a team where players trash coaches on Twitter and then apologize behind closed doors with no repercussions or public acknowledge of wrong doing?
IMO this guy is iffy and it won't bother me if he ends up someplace else. I'm only commenting to the actions that have taken place to date. If the staff is happy with where they stand with him fine, so be it.
Lot of talk for a guy with 25ish rec ... @ 500 yds ... 5 or less TD's.
Wasn't he hurt?
That's fair, and in a sense I'm more criticizing ND coaches here than I am Braden. The coaches decide who they want to recruit and what kind of culture they want to have on their team.
Imagine someone like Alize Mack came out in an interview and said "These coaches suck. They lied to me about getting me the ball. This offense is terrible." And then didn't apologize publicly. I'd imagine most us would think he should be off the team, right? That's sort of how I view this situation... like the hypothetical of current player trashing the integrity of the coaches.
So I just see it as a mistake for them to be actively pursuing him even with the desperate need for some speed at WR. We'll see what happens though... taking a flier on someone with upside isn't the worst thing in the world, you just can't do this a multitude of times because that's how you end up with depth holes.
No not really. Ezekiel Elliot did basically exactly this but also helped them win a national championship. If he makes the team better, is able to stay eligible, and doesn't commit violent crimes sign me up.

Thanks, forgot to add that. Played 9 games.
Yeah, 25 receptions in 9 games would still be quite "meh"... and that's an understatement.

From what I can tell, the 1st and 2nd string QB's went down with injuries early in the season and they were forced to play a Freshman at QB. They chose to run the ball more than normal.
