More surprising that they didn't send him cuz he's Dallas Gant, #1 OLB in America. I'll be interested to see his numbers.

Interesting to me that when the OSU guy said to him that this seems to be a battle between OSU and Notre Dame, Gant didn't flinch at all about that, and smoothly went about talking about the two schools. He said twice that last year's bad record didn't mean much --- quick remarks but apparently honest ones. It seems to me that the real "battle" is between the one OSU coach and our guys.

The invites are way too subjective. There is no formula, no ryhme nor reason on how people make it there.

I saw a list of the top scores from the Cleveland regional, and Gant, Caraman, Gill, etc. didn't have scores listed.
It's likely that they're waiting for finals to test. Gant probably gets an at-large invite.

Michigan is optimistic though and wants him to get on campus one more time before a commitment.

Most Ohio State reporters are confident he picks OSU.
Must be telling reporters for each team what they want to hear.

Which I find weird, as every 11warriors video or article I see Gant always talks about Notre Dame. Even when the question is directed at OSU.

I felt the same... he generally talks ND up more in those vids than OSU, but there are some weird vibes coming from the OSU reporters anyway.
One of 11W's best writers/reporter (Jeremy Birmingham) helped start a new B1G website (Land of Ten), and he is also confident that it will be Ohio State, unless he visits scUM's spring game instead of Ohio State's spring game this weekend, in which case he'll view it as a total toss-up.
Other staff writers and moderators at 11W are constantly hinting at good news when Gant and his decision come up, posting borderline "I know something you don't know" gifs and teasers.
So either Gant is playing everyone for fools and has the beat reporters thinking their respective schools are in good position while he's actually a silent to OSU (based on the hinting from their insiders), or else ND is in a great spot because OSU reporters think it's an OSU-ND battle, and scUM reporters think it's an ND-scUM battle, meaning the common theme is that he's always got ND on the brain.
We will see in about a month (unless some reporter breaks it and spoils it sooner)

Opening test results:
Same 40 as Bauer. I thought Bauer would be much quicker in the 40 like a 4.63. I knew Gant was going to be 4.8ish. He doesn't look fast on tape to me, Bauer at least plays fast. A step quicker in the shuttle than Bauer. Bauer was stronger and 3" better vert which could be just a coordination and lack of practice in the testing methods.

Just shows you that all #1 OLB's aren't built the same. Big difference between Gant and Jaylon.
The truth is, the NFL stars in this class at OLB might currently be a .8350 Comp who aren't getting invited to the combines.
Nothing jumps off the screen with Gant and I can't really believe 247 thinks he's the best OLB in the country. You can watch highlight tapes of some OLB and they just jump off the screen and you sit back and are like holy shit. Jaylon, Nidgel Brahmand, Matthew Thomas, Raashan Evans were some of those guys who just jumped off the screen. Dallas isn't one of them which leads me to believe it's a really down here for OLB. I don't think Dallas is a pass rusher either so I'm not sure what 247 sees in him to make him the #1 OLB.
