Sam Mustipher's brother. High level wrestler, Has visited numerous times. Believed to be a heavy ND lean. Plays with Top 20 OT Jordan McNair. No offer as of yet. Might not even need one if reports are true. One of the most important recruits in ND's funnel being they have a great shot of landing him.

Yeah he is massive for being just a sophomore. He should've been offered a while ago but better late than never and we should be the favorite with his big bro already on the team. I se him being a great replacement when Tillery graduates.

Recruiting Week In Review - Irish Sports Daily

PJ Mustiper, DL, 6-5, 295, McDonogh School, Owings Mill, MD is chomping at the bit for the start of the 2016 season. The four-star prospect in the Class of 2018 is the brother of current Notre Dame starting center, Sam Mustipher. He’s looking to make his own name, though, and has set lofty goals for his team and himself this season.
“I’ve never been this excited for a season coming up,” he shared. “This is my year to dominate and I’m ready to do so. I’ve been working very hard this summer. I definitely want to get twenty sacks. I want to get as many sacks as I can get. I also want to be a leader. I’m captain right now as a leader, so I want to be the best leader for these young guys to getting us another ring, which we haven’t accomplished since I was a freshman.”
Mustipher is especially focused on winning a state championship.
“Like I said, we haven’t done it since I was a freshman,” he explained. “That’s our main goal. We have two out of conference games, Gonzaga and DeMatha. Those are two games we have circled on our schedule. We definitely want to win those and I think we have great shots since we’ve been preparing all summer like we should be.”
Mustipher already owns a Notre Dame offer as well as offers from programs such as Ohio State, Alabama, Michigan, Michigan State, Tennessee and many others. He hasn’t heard that much from the Irish as of late but isn’t worried about it.
“Once coaches can start making contact, it’ll probably pick back up, but right now I’m just staying low key and not really worrying about recruiting,” he said. “My season is coming up. It’s a big year for me. Notre Dame is always going to be at the top of my list, so I’m not really as much about that as I am the season.”
Because his brother plays at Notre Dame, the younger Mustipher has been on campus a number of times and “definitely” plans to be in attendance for the Irish’s November game against Virginia Tech.
“I’m up there so much,” he said. “I’m so exposed to the campus and so exposed to what they have to offer. Notre Dame is a great place, great academically. Football-wise, Notre Dame speaks for itself. I always say that and I mean it too. Notre Dame is a great place and I’m always there.”

Should be at the absolute Top of ND's board regardless of year. You may need a WDE or FS more but you are in the catbird's seat with a Top 3, borderline 5 star DT whose brother plays for you. People don't like the "must get" tag so I'll say he's a "need2get" and a "should get"

Can't say I really enjoyed reading this freebie from Ryan Bartow@247.

Four-star Mustipher adds depth on top options

Defensive tackle PJ Mustipher (Owings Mills, Md./McDonough School) said Notre Dame isn’t his No. 1 school despite his brother playing for the Irish.

He said they are in his lead group along with Penn State, Maryland, Ohio State, Michigan State and Tennessee.

"Time will tell," Mustipher said. "Notre Dame is a special place. It speaks for itself. Academics and they love to win. It's a top priority."

Mustipher, who has 16 verbal offers, plans to visit Penn State next, later this fall, and will attend the Alabama at Tennessee game this fall, too.

He's hoping to hit up a few games at Maryland this fall as well.

Mustipher added depth on his top contenders.

Michigan State: "Their coaches are some of the best in the business. They love to win there, too. Great coaches. They know what they are doing."

Ohio State: "I've known (Buckeyes defensive line) coach (Larry Johnson) since sixth grade. Coach Urban Meyer texts me every day. I hear from them a lot. I love Ohio State."

Penn State: "It's crazy there. They were my second offer so they are always close to my heart. I love Penn State. I want to be up there a whole bunch (for visits)."

Maryland: "Awe man they are intense. Their whole program has changed. And I have (my teammate) Jordan McNair going there. So it's like why not stay home sometimes?"

Tennessee: "I talk to them a lot. Coach Butch Jones gives me a text probably every day. I talk to them a lot. That atmosphere down there is SEC football. I fell in love with it down there when I took a visit."

Mustipher, the nation’s No. 4 defensive tackle in the 2018 class by 247SportsComposite, has a Crystal Ball reading of Notre Dame for 83-percent and 17-percent for Tennessee. He will likely go to college north to Notre Dame or to a program in the Big Ten.

Mustipher (6-5, 285) has 17 verbal offers.

Mustipher holds a 3.4 GPA and bench presses 315 pounds as a junior.

I get younger brothers wanting to do their own thing, but between Mustipher, Cage and the St. Brown boys, it seems like some missed opportunities here.

Let's see how the rest of the season plays out and who will be the DC going forward. There is a lot of time in this recruitment. If he was a '17 kid then I would worry.

Wondering how he liked how his brother was partially blamed for the loss today...

'18 MD DT PJ Mustipher (Offer)

'18 MD DT PJ Mustipher (Offer)

He didn't have any more bad snaps than NC states center.

Disagree with that. Those fumbles were more on NC State QB.

Mustipher's were all on him.

Also, my point was more that Sam got ripped a new one by Kelly and that is probably not a good thing in PJ's recruitment.

I agree this doesn't help our cause much.

When I played back in the day, and from coaches I talked to. If a coach doesn't get on you then he doesn't care about your potential.

When a coach holds you accountable it's because he knows you are better than the way you played.

I don't necessarily like a coach calling someone out but it is what it is.

As long as next year's coach didn't say anything about Sam we're good.

Maybe we can get a sideline safe space before the next game.
