Id take him in a heartbeat. Otherwise in 2019 we'll be lining up in Coach Elkos brand new Circle defensive formation (i.e No corners).

Ehh. DJ Johnson won't make or break a DB class. If you're from Indy and seriously contemplating going to Iowa over ND, something isn't right. Add in his "I'm still open to all schools" comment, and it smells fishy.

He's definitely looking for more attention. Going to visit OSU, PSU, MSU, and Cincy in hopes of getting offers.

OSU's Andrew Ellis with a CB for Iowa. The first non-ND CB.

Iowa has a lot of buzz in Indy right now. They are in good with the 7v7 programs there.

I would DJ is a make or break for this class. We need CBs and we can't let a consensus top-30 CB leave the state if we are showing interest. We have plenty of opportunity with the goose egg from the last class.

DJ needs to be a part of this class.

I'd rather have Burton & Mitchell for sure, probably Plummer too. Bracy and DJ would be next. I'm not sure where the staff has McKenzie pegged for(?)

Make or break for this class is a little dramatic. Plenty of quality corners out there.

im the total opposite. i'll take a high three star FL, TX, GA corner over him. If he chose Iowa i wouldn't mind at all

Help me out fellas, both these guys threads say Safety. Do you think they end up playing CB?

Who knows? DB recruiting is a total mystery to me right now.

Mitchell plays FS I think because they have Olijah Griffin on one side and a young but very talented CB on the otherside in Akili Arnold (2019). Mitchell is more athletic than Arnold but it's smarter to put the better player at FS if you have a lockdown corner taking away half the field. Mitchell picks up guys at the line of scrimmage in nickle packages. I believe he could play CB at ND. His testing numbers say he's more than athletic enough.

Wilkins is a mystery to me. I really like his limited film but his best 100m is just an 11.5 and he skipped the 40 testing at the Opening. If you are coming in at CB, which his film shows you've got to have some quicks or be able to get it done like Julian Love does with HS 4.7 speed.

PLenty of quality corners and we don't have a single one in this class. And we signed zero last year. From all of the reports, we are targeting a minimum of 3 CBs in this class. It's concerning if we lose a top-30 CB from our own state.

I'm not a worry type of a fan but last year's CB recruiting is the type of thing that hamstrings you for a couple years. We really need talented secondary players to join this class because as of right now, we have a phenomenal safety who needs to contain the back 75% of the field.

We are in the top two for Johnson and the Georgia kids Burton and Plummer are visiting this month. As others have said I'd take the two GA. kids over Johnson and I don't mean that as a slam at Johnson who is a good player. But I can't tell you how many three star CB's I've seen come out of Georgia who gone on to be very good or great players in college and even the NFL. UGA will have two three star CB's starting for them this season against ND. And one of the other starting secondary players was a walk on from the state.

But we need 3! My guess is we get one from this group, and are still two short. Johnson may not be the GOAT, but he's a quality CB and there is a very good change he'll be better than what we end up with.

1. I bet we get two of the three

2. It's only July. Long, long way to go till February. In fact it was mentioned on podcast if they got two they sit and wait on some bigger fish who won't decide early. Gordon as an example.

If we get two of them, my perspective would change for sure.

And what happens if we miss out on those better ones????

Wish in 1 hand, crap in the other and see which gets filled first. If you've followed ND recruiting I think you'll now what'll happen.
