It’s not “worry time” they’re trying to nip some minor bad habits in the bud. They’ve learned their lesson from giving players passes. You want to play as a Freshman? Be 100% dialed in.

He is in the doghouse for something. Pete Sampson asked about him and Kelly kind of said he was.

if it's lateness type stuff, then I'll breath.

if it's weed or booze, i might still worry.

Kelly said he is available. Basically said he needs to play better in practice then he will get playing time. Nothing about being in the doghouse

"Traits" was the word, I believe. Same term Kelly used to describe Chase Claypool, and, I think, Mack, at times last year. Not a violation of team rules or anything like that.

It sounds like a carrot or stick approach. The stick was not letting him travel the last two games and now the carrot is the opportunity to play in a playoff game if he gets it together. Kelly also just generally mentioned using guys who haven't played yet for extra speed, which is probably a way to keep the freshmen wide receivers motivated through this month of practice without any games.

I like hearing the speed thing... could mean the introduction of Lenzy for deep balls.

Austin is IMO one of four best WRs. He needs to be in the rotation.

Need to earn it. Some kids have a hard time going from BMOC in HS to earning your keep.

This kid looks like he has it all. We don’t need another Stepherson . Kevin did a great job on the field and was the most productive WR when he was on the field. Wasted opportunities.

I would lose it if we saw Lenzy catch a deep ball against Clemson, a la Chris Brown coming onto the scene against OU in '12, seemingly out of nowhere.

Only concern is Book's consistency throwing deep balls. BW coming in for a trick play to the unknown freshman? Now that's what I call a wrinkle.

I keep thinking we will see Avery throw a pass...maybe to Austin

Probably a better chance it’s Wimbush. BK has said they want to work him in if it doesn’t disrupt the flow of the offense. And Avery has essentially made a full time move to RB. We haven’t seen him because in Kelly’s words. He needs some seasoning (more weight training) to be in that role. So outside of emergencies, he’s not even in the rotation now.

Who could have thought at our scholarship RBs and WRs would be hard to take off the field for a QB to take their spot...

I think he means as a surprise since Avery is a RB and Wimbush is not.

I got it and that's what I meant. Wimbush has already lined up in the backfield with Book, did so against Syracuse. So, I think there is a better chance we see Wimbush do so than there is of Avery Davis. FWIW, since Stanford, Davis has only logged offensive snaps against VT and FSU.

I'd throw a trick play in against Clemson with the intention of fake using it again in the championship game against Oklahoma.

Let Wimbush run the Wildcat. He looks great taking a direct snap and just taking off.

The deep ball should be a lot easier having someone that SHOULD create a lot more separation like Lenzy.

I love our WRs, really do, but for the most part, they're a slow bunch compared to most top passing teams...... Separation this year has been route skill dependent, not speed.

If Lenzy is legit speedy like we think, he should 1) be able to create separation early, and 2) be able to adjust or "run under balls" much better than anyone on the roster. Books timing on short to intermediate passing with little separation is tremendous. Tossing it over the top could be much easier and less risky with someone like Lenzy.

In the past, deep shots are for the most part 50/50 shots with zero/little separation relying on our big, good hands guys. Speed turns that same throw into more of a timed pop up over the top.

Per Anna he was suspended for the final two games of the season, this won't shock anyone but that's why he didn't travel

All go for this weekend

Always scares me when freshmen so dumb things and get suspended. I know they are freshmen but those seem to be the ones who end up in more trouble later or transfer.

Hope he can be like big Jerry and go on to have a monster ND career. Jerry was frequently in the dog house his freshman year

He does not seem like one to keep doing dumb things. He has very good parents and came from a good school. Not a typical Florida Kid.

Plus his dumb azz unsportsman-like antics at U$C a couple years ago! I truly think the repercussions from that incident made "the light go on" regarding Jerry's maturity.

I really don't recall Jerry Tillery being in the "dog house" and having any off the field troubles his freshman year. I know his sophomore year he had the incident where he stepped on a Condom in the USC game. And his early years he was more focused on school than dedicating himself to football. But I don't really recall him being in Kelly's "doghouse" per se his freshman year. Please provide examples and correct me if I am incorrect.
