Anything on his visit? Would love to add him to Hiestand's stable.

This kid plays everything so close to the vest. I know he stayed on campus for most of Sunday. He also did an interview with ISD but again, nothing noteworthy.

"Pretty good"
"Nice"

But apparently that's just how this kid is. He has been in very good contact with ND throughout the process. Bama, Auburn, Florida, and OSU all right there....

Loy has stated that ND is out for Murray and that's all he will say at this time but will give details after signing day...Multiple posters have proposed that the staff was given a silent commit from an OL recruit (NPF) and Loy has not refuted it. I'm not sure if he puts in CBs for silent commits or not but there has been no movement yet. I think it might be just as likely that the staff did not like Murray's height but it's something to ponder

Hopefully ND wouldn't spend thousands of dollars and waste the time of prospective athletes and their families by flying them across the country only to have HH neg stamp the operation because Murray was 6-2 7/8's... after Polian has been to his school numerous times and i believe in home.

Yeah, deficient size sounds like something Loy could share. This sounds like something else, though I don't think speculation on what exactly is necessary

It would make sense if indeed NPF is a silent commit as he was included in the group photo of current commits. Hopefully it is true.

What group photo? The one below taken at the game doesn't have him in it. IF that's him in the back left then he's not IN the pic with the commits.

It's not true. He's not a silent. Unless certain staff members are out of the loop...

Murray not being a take could be a lot of different things. Loy not shooting down the silent commit angle is just a way to keep clicks going, IMO.

A reliable poster on another board who is from Florida says the word around there is NPF is backing off Florida and is a strong lean to ND. TWIW.

I never buy into this silent commit stuff.

Now this I've heard and this i can get on board with. Communication even since the trip has been great. He's only been back from the trip for two days so I'm not sure what he could have told UF for it to get around that fast. Time will tell.

NPF is arguably the biggest fish left in the tank for 2018, minus maybe ASB. Me personally, I'd take NPF

A lot of kids don't have many qualms backing out of an announced commitment, so a silent one would probably mean even less. I get that a coach might want to make sure he has room, but as we know, that generally isn't a ND type of problem.

I want both. ASB can be a game changer as a receiver. NPF strikes me as a perfect fit for ND and HH.

Is this guy pretty much it for OL recruiting? Or are there other prospects out there? The current haul is not what we've become accustomed to.

Right? Not to be a debby downer, but HH has recruited very well before, and this is the most dominating OL we've had in his time, and he has potentially two first round OL to brag about. On top of that, NFL people are constantly tweeting about how great the ND OL is. This should be the easiest sell ever. I think we have two 3-star guys committed right?

And for the great OL HH has produced, he doesn't typically do it with 3-star guys. So the above point is a little concerning IMO.

Quenton Nelson - 5 star
Mike McGlinchey - mid 4 star
Ronnie Stanley - high 4 star

can't remember when Nick Martin came or how much credit to attribute to HH for him.

You forgot Q Nelson!

I think its kind of lame too, but apparently they haven't been very impressed with this year's crop. They got those 4 good ones last year, so may not be feeling the need.

If they add NPF they will be a fine. He's a high 4-star.

Jamie at ISD has been saying since spring that this is a down year on the O Line. NPF is one of the only guys he'd consider truly elite

The thing is, I think Loy would be hesitant to come out and say "Notre Dame doesn't want Murray because of his size" The fact that Notre Dame offered him and than invited him on campus for a visit (and not for an evaluation) and then flaked because of something you could see from miles away would be a terrible look.

Maybe this is too Macchiavelian, but I suspect Notre Dame was never super interested in Murray to begin with and saw it as a way to endear themselves to ARSB. I think that's more likely than a silent commit from NPF.

I never buy into this silent commit stuff.

A good rule is that if you hear whispers about it, it's not true. Real silent commits come as a complete shock.
