Right team #moneybags. But naw, it's because for the first time in like 20 years, the countries best want to play for Mike Riley, and at Nebraska.

When I was growing up in the 90's Nebraska was an elite program. Them, FSU, UF, Michigan, OSU were the elite schools. Like Bama, OSU, FSU, Clemson are now.

Nebraska I believe is the last team to win back to back titles.

Right I don't know why I looked over/forgot about Bama's back to back titles.

According to the NCAA history book USC didn't win or loss any games during Jose supposed championship years.

So........20 years ago.

I was not disagreeing with you or calling you out at all.

Just reliving my youth and backing up your statement about Nebraska being dominant 20 years ago.

Nebraska being good is good for football. I hope some of these kids they're getting help them compete at the top of the B1G. Fuq Michigan and what not.

Can't say I think that Nebraska paying some of the countries best to play football for them is good for college football, but that's JMO.

Ya, you guys keep saying this, but do you have actual reason, or just sour grapes?

Is it that crazy to think a traditional power in the Midwest, that hasn't won a title in a while, could possibly get recruits without paying them? If that's what you think, then we better look in the mirror.

Mike Riley had plenty of Cali connections too, I think that was one of the reasons cited for him getting the job. So the better recruiting doesn't really surprise me. I think part of the reason for the accusations starting was the hashtag their new DB coach used. Something along the lines of #money or whatever. It was weird and not a smoking gun, but we all know that the bag men are prevalent.

Personally, I think something fishy HAS TO BE going on, if Bobby D is offering a 5'9" corner.

That's not the proper profile.

Those connections didn't help him much at OSU. Mike Riley failed up. He's a tired coach that Oregon State told to start looking for jobs, they were going to fire him either way. That's why they had Anderson lined up so quickly. Riley refused to fire his staff at Oregon State and quickly got rid of them at Nebraska.

I don't think it's unreasonable to believe something shady is going, when one of the assistants tasked with bringing in all these players, literally said, #wegotthebag with a bunch of money bags next to it.

Assistants that put players in the league and build credibility, not surprising. A guy that puts that on twitter and has zero on field credibility, something fishy. I mean, this isn't Ole Miss obvious, but probably a second place finish.

I think it's a combination of a great marketing campaign (Calibraska), a fanbase that is by far the most social media savvy and the hiring of Donte Williams to close em. The bags of $$$ is just current recruiting poor taste lingo that far too many are using. "PlayingForEnvelopes" "Grab them stacks", yeah, too many to list.

Sounds like what they said about Ole Miss, until, you know, Ole Miss happened. That Hugh Freeze guy is a great recruiter, and he just gets the new generation better than other coaches, blah, blah, blah.

What do their fans do on social media that's so savvy compared to others? Just curious as I don't follow any other teams/other teams fans.

They don't use envelopes. They have internet checking and direct deposits.

Come on. Has Riley ever been dirty before? Is it so crazy to believe a kid might be sold on the notion of playing for a traditional power, against some of the best out there (OSU, Michigan, etc). And we all know how persuasive Diaco can be. Without a little more evidence than clumsy tweeting by an assistant this just feels like butthurtism.

Who said Riley was dirty?

I'm saying he's never been a good recruiter (his cali connection didn't do so well at OSU, at least not anytime recently) or at least anything remotely close to this degree. So what has changed. He has a couple guys on staff that are willing to push some boundaries? A majority of this pre-dates Diaco. The money tweet was before he was on staff, and the DB coach and WR's coach are who is recruiting a majority of these players.

Definitely not clumsy tweeting, very much intentional. Funny thing is I don't care, and definitely not butt hurt. A majority of these players weren't coming to ND whether they went to Nebraska or not. I'm just kind of astonished that so many think this guy is on the up amd up.

How could anyone's perception ever get changed if we don't get shown how it's done by the savvy fan bases?

I honestly have only ever seen the ND Twitter creeps that get put on blast around here or all the basic congratulatory commitment retweets. But that's how you become a 20 something dinosaur I suppose.

What is the Nebraska fanbase doing that others aren't?

We shall see but worth noting...

Take two: Can Nebraska hold on to Radley-Hiles

Take Two returns with a daily offering tackling a handful of issues in the college football landscape. Rivals.com National Recruiting Analyst Adam Gorney lays out the situation and then receives takes from Rivals.com National Recruiting Director Mike Farrell and a local expert from the Rivals.com network of team sites.

Brendan Radley-Hiles has been a longtime commitment to Nebraska, and there are no significant signs that the Huskers will lose out on the ultra-talented four-star cornerback. But there seem to be some cracks as his senior season moves forward.

The Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy standout who’s originally from Southern California recently visited Clemson. And Radley-Hiles – a big-time winner and competitive kid – has said really positive things about the Tigers.

After a recent game in California, Radley-Hiles said he would also like to visit Florida, Texas, Notre Dame and maybe Oregon, and he will absolutely return to Nebraska as well.

With the Huskers losing to Northern Illinois this weekend and a bevy of top-level programs with excellent defensive back tradition chasing Radley-Hiles, does Nebraska have anything to worry about when it comes to his commitment?

Or have coach Mike Riley and a bunch of assistant coaches including Donte Williams done enough through the recruiting process to convince Radley-Hiles that Lincoln is the right place for him?

FIRST TAKE: NATE CLOUSE, HUSKERONLINE.COM

“It’s never an ideal situation when a team has a commitment taking visits to others schools, and that’s the situation Nebraska finds itself in with Brendan Radley-Hiles.

"The level of concern is high since Radley-Hiles is the top-ranked commitment for the Huskers and has played a large role as being a peer recruiter, but I get the sense the fans are far more concerned about the development than NU’s staff is. Bookie has a terrific relationship with head coach Mike Riley, cornerbacks coach Donte Williams, receivers coach Keith Williams and pretty much every other coach for the Big Red. I know he’s been very transparent with NU about wanting to take visits, which I suppose is a good thing.

"However, the bottom line for Nebraska is that they’re in a battle with some big-time programs to keep this big-time prospect on its commitment list, and that won’t change until he signs in December as an early enrollee.”

SECOND TAKE: MIKE FARRELL, RIVALS.COM

“Yes, there is concern. Mike Riley is going to be under heavy scrutiny if they don’t turn this thing around. They don’t look anything close to a team that could even compete for the Big Ten West, much less a national championship.

"Clemson is the one to worry about. The way that defense is playing, it looks like it is just reloading. It looks like it could beat Alabama. The Nebraska fan base is really sort of melting down after that ugly loss, and they’re the type that really pumps up recruits and the kids really like the attention. One game doesn’t mean anything, but he’s already thought about looking around before, and this could continue his interest in other programs.”

If they don't start winning - yep. And guess whose name is all over Twitter as next HC?

Dan Mullen.
