I can't tell if Loy and Wiltfong are grossly incompetent at gathering accurate Intel, or they intentionally withhold bad news to keep the pageviews rolling in. When I was a member, I lost count of the number of times swore up and down that ND was in good shape for a recruit despite multiple reports from others that it wasn't the case.

I honestly think we should consider putting a moratorium on 247 intel from these two.

I wouldn't oppose this.

Seems like the coaches probably did all they could here. To many friends and family at Kentucky to pull him away.

The slow play because of academics works every time.

It's going to be funny (and by funny I mean really sad) when we finish with a recruiting class of 15-20 guys when we have room for 25+ and play yet another season as if we have scholarship reductions.

Also, if we were smart we'd just hire his brother like Michigan, etc. do to get recruits they want.

Why is ND the worst at getting DL? Especially rush ends. It's kinda pathetic. One of the most important posistions to be solid at and they fail year after year. Smh.

Definitely not the worst, though could be better, but I guess it'd take a 3 minute google search to figure that out.

We signed 3 top 250 DE's just last cycle. 2 of those 3 were WDE or ROLB's. But hey, don't let me stop you from sharing such intelligence, with the rest of the board.

When you think of what could of been with DL Beal, Jeter, Ewell, and Pascal this year and linebacker last year with Mcculloch, Hayes, and Kelly smh...our front seven would of been nice. Instead we got two of them. Always the best man never the groom.

Good lord. To say this would be a catastrophic loss would be a major understatement. I don't think we can recover from this if Paschal spurns us for freakin' Kentucky. Ughh....

It would obviously suck but this is a bit of an exaggeration buddy. There is no single player that a program "can't recover from" and if there is it's definitely not a player who is not even a top 10* consensus player at his position.

*edit: He is exactly 10th in the 247 composite.

My issue is we really can't get good de's. But , we also have issues keeping them Lynch, Hill, Williams (not ishaq), Blankenship. 3 of them should be on the team next year

Bvg?? Academics? Bk' personality?

How any of this stuff continues to surprise folks around here is beyond me... expect the worst case in recruiting, especially with any impact defensive recruit, at all times... your blood pressure will thank you.

Essentially it is, because right now, the only DE we're expected to finish with is MacCollister. That's just not good enough. MacCollister is a good kid I'm sure, but he's a project and a potential candidate to move inside.

It's also because we keep missing on big DL names class after class. We need to get consistent here, because it's going to make everything a lot tougher without guys like Paschal.

Hot garbage of a post. Complete over-exaggeration. In fact, from a ranking standpoint, he's ranked behind all 3 DE's that we signed, just last year.

Now, I love the player and am disappointed, but get a fucking grip man.

Especially since his brother works at Kentucky, it put's every team in the country behind the eight ball to land his services.

Kind of an arrogant dick head arent u...

As far as rush ends, ND is by far one of the worst and for the DL in general Nd doesnt stack up with the consistent top teams. The DL at Nd has been near pathetic for awhile now. When they do sign them, they never make it. Theres a reason why top teams have great DL that rotate many players. Not the best depth and not even close to great edge speed. But yeah...google your ass off man...

I'm not even going to grace this with a legitimate response. You might want to look at what you wrote when referencing "hot garbage".

I'm pissed about this, but I'm not going to resort to insult someone else's intelligence and treat him as though he's completely lost sense of reality.

I'm leaving it at that.

From big dreams (Kaindoh & Epenesa) to wishful thinking (Beal & Jeter) to reality - ranked 118th in the country for total team sacks.

Third post calling a mod an arrogant dick head is pretty much the easiest way to get banned. Gave this guy a week off to learn the board rules.

Did you actually read your post or did you blackout and NDSean reestablished control over your consciousness? Your post was a flaming whiny mess. One defensive prospect is lost and your calling it catastrophic and something that can't be recovered from. If you believe what you typed then yes your losing whatever small sense of reality you had left.

I'll amend what I said. Okwara was ranked 303 composite and Pascal is 285. However, Julian was actually rated higher. So, you are freaking out about us not signing a DE, that is, from a recruiting perspective, on par or worse than all 3 DE's we signed last year. Certainly doesn't justify your freak out.

This really bums me out. Hopefully Julian Okwara and Daelin Hayes and Khalid Kareem really emerge as solid DE's....

I think Wiltfong wanted to spare the meltdown but basically he posted on the UK board that Paschal is going to Kentucky.

1. Beal-strike
2. Kaindoh- strike
3. Espina- strike
4. Fuck I don't have the time for this

They will Vancouver. Ogundeji is someone I'm curious to see. Hope he gets a lot of reps in the Spring Game. When it comes to DL in general I think next year is the time for a youth movement much like we saw with the secondary this year. Let's get a 8-10 man rotation next year and see what these guys can do!

Ade O is an intriguing player. He is really put himself together. He is long, lean, and getting ripped up. I'm not sure if he'll be where we need him next year (he was a very raw player out of HS), but his physique has got me a lot more confident that we'll get something out of him, before he leaves campus.

I really hope so. I think one big thing that needs to be done is whether we hire a new DC or Elston is promoted, we need a new defensive scheme/philosophy that will create more pressure on the QB. I know it doesn't look like we're gonna get that pass rushing DE this cycle but Hayes/Okwara/Ade are all hard working studs coming out of high school and have a whole winter, spring and summer to get bigger stronger and faster. I feel pretty confident that at least one of them will pull through for us next year and improve our play at that position. We have lots of the to recruit '18 WDE's now and I'm certain staff will go after it HARD.
