you'd think that ND is in the playoffs with all this good news.

I know, it's like they are factoring in that ND is a Top 20 university that costs $250,000 to attend and regularly puts kids in the NFL.

I wasn't sure which thread to post this in but I was reading the comments on the 247 post about the upcoming recruiting weekend and some poster commented that he felt Banks, Simmons, Paschal, Calvin and most likely Graham would end up committing. Loy said that he agrees. Loy seems to be fairly informed lately so I like this.

Wow. This would go here and the master list thread maybe.

I love the optimism but no way

I personally am predicting we land Paschal, Simmons, Martin. I think Graham and Calvin are going to Nebraska and Johnson to USC and Sarrel to Washington. I think we round out the class with a few projects. I hope I'm wrong and if I am, I think it'll be because either Graham, Calvin or Johnson will commit to ND but not all of them. We're just not that lucky.

Graham is coming to ND
Calvin probably ND
Paschal HAS to come to ND I think we get him
Simmons is a lock
Martin is 50/50 IMO
Johnson is my biggest want and we got him on campus that's a win in itself. I could see this recruitment like Dexter Williams like someone said
Sarrell is a Stanford lock

You are an excitable person. I wonder what you look like when you type your optimistic messages

I sure an. What can I say? I love me some ND football. Far and away my favourite hobby. I just read in a 247 message board that Loy thinks Paschal is looking more and more like recruiting win for ND.

He'll soon realize that this is how it works every year at this time of the recruiting cycle. Notre Dame will be "in it" for like 6 really good recruits at the end of the cycle and somehow find a way to land none of them.

I'm sorry but that is nonsense. We didn't close too well last year but we've been "in it" late for solid recruits year after year and landed many. No way in hell we are going to get skunked on the last 6(ish) we're "in it" for. I'd say we'll for sure land three, hopefully more. I'm getting a little tired of people giving me a hard time for having a good attitude.

Keep the attitude. It balances out the negative Nancy crybabies

No man, keep the good attitude! Its refreshing to see considering there has been a lot of negativity surrounding Notre Dame football lately. I'm usually a pretty optimistic person myself when it comes to ND football. But, for some reason, every time I get my hopes up for a recruit they seem to never pick ND. So I just choose not to trust recruiting hype and believe it when it actually happens.

Yeah. Half-kidding. Recruiting (and college football) is supposed to be fun, and a positive attitude helps. I think it'd be awesome if we can close strong this year. And we appear to have a good shot at several quality players.
But for whatever reason, we do tend to lock up most of our class fairly early. We sometimes land a couple of guys late, but the drag-it-out drama queens almost always wind up going elsewhere in the end.

I hear ya. Caleb Kelly really bummed me out last year. How did he make out at Oklahoma this year anyways? Did he play?

You too Shark!! Glad to have you and all the boys to talk ND football with. It's rare to find anyone in Vancouver that's anywhere near as big of a College Football fan as I am to talk ball with. Most Canadians haven't got a a clue of what state Notre Dame is even in! Thank god for the internet.

Yeah, I don't get the Caleb Kelly/Jeff McCullough vibe from any of these guys. Though, I don't think any of them are that high a level recruit. A lot of these guys are needs to fill out the class. Kelly/McCullough/Davis were going to be the cherry on top of a good class. I don't think we needed them, but I do know we really really really really REALLLLLY wanted them.

That being said, I'd be surprised if we didn't land at least Paschal, Graham, Calvin and Simmons. I'm waiting to hear how this weekend goes for Johnson and Martin, but the fact that they're visiting is a major win in and of itself and I think there is very high interest both ways.

I do think that recruiting eventually dulls on you after years of dealing with it. It sure has for me. I used to really get into it and get excited upon hearing any speck of good news regarding a recruit. After awhile, you just get used to hearing noise around recruiting and get better and connecting the dots. As a recruitment rounds up, you starting getting a better sense at when that guy is going to pull the trigger.

Wiltfong just posted that Paschal will announce this week. Crystal Ball predictions are 53% ND, 23% Kentucky, 8% Oklahoma, 8% OSU, 8% Maryland. I'm not really considering the CB's much as there has been a lot of movement with his recruitment lately. For example, Maryland isn't in it and hasn't been for ages. His brother being at Kentucky really worries me but him just now deciding to commit right after visiting ND is a good sign......I think...,,,Who really fu$&ing knows..... I get myself way too wrapped u in this stuff.... Haha
