It's so much better with audio:

I was surprised his name didn't come up that often in the game. Does anyone know if he was hurt and they decided to play him less or if his number just wasn't called that frequently?

Kelly said they ran him more than they should have versus Navy so maybe that had something to do with it but I think it was mostly game script. There were only 7 carries by a RB not named Dexter Williams and Jafar had 4 of those.

Kelly on Jafar Armstrong: Ankle injury in Navy game, tweaked it again during the week and "never felt right. It hampered him in the game. He wasn't as explosive."

So will Jafar be healthy for FSU or should we keep him on resting for the Syracuse game?

FSU has the chance to shock us but Syracuse is looking like a shootout waiting to happen.

Yikes. And Kyren looks to already be in the dog house after that dropped pass.

Down M Young. J Armstrong. And C Kmet.

Not good

Depending on the severity this is probably season altering. Our inability to trot out 3 of our top 5 skill players is going to be a death knell against some of our bigger opponents.

Jones and Smith are fine but neither has anything like Jafar’s ability to break one. Hopefully this is nothing serious.

He didn’t get many opportunities, if any, after that.
So, because he didn't get any more passing targets you think he's in Kelly's doghouse permanently?

Don't think he'll get the Stepherson treatment. Lol.

Hope I’m wrong, but Jafar & Kmet seem to be trending towards injury prone.

Kmet maybe but he was healthy most of his freshman year so not sure if I'd say injury prone but something to watch. I think he just had a nagging ankle injury last year.

Jafar had a knee infection last year. That's not really injury prone. I'm not sure what you call that but it wasn't a bone or ligament issue.

Kmet had the dreaded high ankle sprain & came back much sooner than expected. It obviously slowed him a bit. I was thinking he was battling an injury at the end of the season, too.

You’re right about Jafar...I had forgotten the surgery was pretty common but the infection laid him up for awhile. Anyways, here’s what Driskell reported about Jafar from BK: Kelly said Jafar Armstrong told them that he was injured in his "midline" area, but was moving around well afterwards.

Sampson said he’s out an “extended amount of time” with groin injury. Possibly 2 months

He worked his rear off and then gets hurt in first quarter / first real play

This hurts because no other running back has that burst and he was probally our second best WR as well.

5 weeks on the optimistic side per Sampson. That would put him back for USC. Eight was the "as much as" timeframe. Eight weeks from the date of the injury is Michigan.

Our remaining RB's are decent but we definitely lack speed at RB without Jafar.

Avery Davis hasn't cracked the rotation at DB. Move him back? He's pretty quick.

I wonder if we can create any explosive plays on the ground without him. Big loss.

Avery looked overwhelmed playing offense last year. No power running the ball and he got alligator arms a few times as a WR.

Guess my point is, what did he show us last year to warrant a change back to the offense?
