Can't flip those two. Despite his size Banks is not a tackle. Doesn't have the feet or athleticism needed to protect the edges. What he is is a mauler at RG.

I disagree. I think Banks is an ideal RT. And Kreamer is the next Nelson at guard.

I want a vote on if Banks is a RT or guard!

SIAP. Current ESPN R&R's.

Hainsey's their #1 OG and #31 OA. A 4 star 2 spots behind Brock Wright.

Thanks for the link jspags. Seems like a great young man with foresight beyond his years.

Wow if true. Maybe they aren't that high on Bars? I can't see him replacing Mustipher already.

LT - McGlinchy
LG - Nelson
C - Mustipher...I hardly know her!
RG - Bars
RT - Kramer/Eichenberg/Hainsey

Is that right?

Not sure if this means Hainsey is all-world or if Kramer/Eichenberg are not performing at the expected level...

I think the talk of Hainsey being in the mix at RT is hollow. No way is he gonna beat out Kraemer and Eich unless those two are struggling with injuries. Heck, I'd rather Bars slide out and play tackle and let Tommy play RG than allow a true freshman (though EE) play

There are enough high-quality players on the line that we can assume that its a compliment to Hainsey. Plus, Kramer and Eichenberger haven't played yet either, so its a little premature to judge them!

On the other hand, I don't think there is as much of a gap between a really highly-rated freshman/sophomore, and a really well-trained, physically-developed 3-star as we like to pretend. The gap emerges later, and is sometimes less important in college football than it is projecting to the pros.

In other words, even if a kid is talented enough to play as a freshman, he's not going to look like an All-American (like a RB might), and he's going to make some big mistakes.

Remember, not only is RH an EE but he essentially transferred in from an FCS program where he was the starting LT for two years. That's why I have always been so high on him. If he had been blessed with Josh Lugg's body, he's maybe the best guy in the class. He played at IMG at 6-4.5 - sub 280.

I smell a Nick Martin career. First an OT back up while working out at guard and then bam, starting OC in '19.

Bars is fine. Expecting Hainsey to play isn't surprising. More than 5 guys will be needed to play this year.

I think at some point Kraemer will be a guard. Maybe not this year but his body screams guard.

The defense being vastly improved is obviously the biggest surprise in camp. To me, Hainsey getting legit PT as a true frosh is a close second.

this says more to me that BK is not confident in TK (alot of onlooks to the scrimmage said TK was poor in pass pro - gave up 3 sacks)

Makes sense but why not cross train Liam at both left and right tackle?

Because he was having difficulty as well.. So less stuff to have to mentally prepare yourself with. Different nuances with each side

Kramer's upside is huge, and its also a sign that we want to be a running team.

But Bars was injured and then lacked strength when he was recovering from his injury. His mediocre start was not indicative of his ceiling. I still think they should slide him outside again, now that he's back to 100%.

I'd go: McGlinchey--Nelson--Mustipher--Kraemer--Bars

bars is apparently looking great at RG though, would you move him to RT where he is so-so and have Kraemer at RG where he hasn't practised at. I think BK is gonna take his lumps with Kraemer and hope he gains confidence and experience.

In my opinion, there's nothing wrong with Kraemer at RT that helping him a little with a decent blocking RB won't cure. As season goes on, he'll get his first two steps figured out quicker. He is still a mountain man mean mauler.
