Didnt Mike from ISD just say on the last power hour that he doesnt see Echols leaving the west coast?

It was a few weeks ago, I want to say before the Opening that Mike said this. Everyone on ISD feels much more comfortable with how Echols' recruitment is going at this point.

Exactly this. It almost seems like a matter of when, not if based on the vibes ISD is putting out. Had a very Alize Jones feel to it, except I get the feeling the flip will happen sooner than it did with AJ.

Seems weird how few commits USC and UCLA both have at this point but happy about their weaknesses!

This would make me feel so much better after loosing Beal. Beal might be more advanced right now, but Echols is definitely a high end pass rusher and just what this defense needs.

I LOVE this. If we get Echols as well as a few other top flight players to finish up our class, this will be a very very strong recruiting class that will set us up very nicely. I love our youth and depth in our defensive front 7 and with Ewell, Hinish and possibly Echols along with the '18 haul all ready with the twins and Ovie I won't be so concerned anymore about our defense. Plenty of talent on our Offense. Incredible offensive line. Outstanding QB's, not to mention our coaching. Excellent stable of RB's.....Playoff contention every year is going to be real. I love what has been going on lately. Fu$@&ng Ecstatic!!

Guess BK aint half bad after all huh? Thinking back, would love to know who we could get any better. Right man for the job and the recruiting classes being strong year after year are shwoing that kids are recognizing that too. It would be awesome to add another elite DLineman to this class...c'mon Hunter...

"Notre Dame is probably No. 1 right now," Echols said. "I love coach (Mike) Denbrock, and I love all the coaches. Academically, it is top of the line. I can see myself living in a pretty quiet place like South Bend. The alumni base and life after football is what I'm all about, and that's what Notre Dame can give you."

"Academics, alumni, and the power of the degree," said Echols, when asked what factors will play a role in his recruitment going forward. "I know a lot the schools I'm looking at have good degrees, so it won't be as much about that. It will be more about the alumni base and life after football.
"That's why I'm so high on Notre Dame. Academics, graduation rate and football. It's the best of both worlds."
Echols plans to announce his decision at the Army All-American Bowl in January.

He has said that he doesn't want to play in the NFL so if he wants to get a great degree with an alumni base that can help him after he grads, and he loves SB and the coaching staff he will come to ND, I would think. He also mentioned Denvrock called him immediately after he decommitted.
