Just curious, where are you seeing it described as a nagging injury? Last I heard, he was competing at a high level as a sprinter.

Agree, from his track bio:

- Led all Irish sprinters in the 60m in 2017 with a PR time of 6.77 seconds set at the ACC Indoor Championship.
- Also was the top runner in the 200m with a season best and indoor PR of 21.75 at the ACC Indoor Championship.
- Set a PR and 2017 top Irish time in the 100m at the ACC Championships with a time of 10.47.

He was going through the defensive walk thru this evening so I don't think it is too severe

dad,

Can I follow you on Twitter or just assign one of the Crusadrones to send back live intel to the westcoast office?

One of them guys said we don't even know how bad it is. I hate fall camp....

I do appreciate me some IrishLion tho

Haha I didn't know how bad it was, either.

I think Pride would benefit from a redshirt regardless. It would stagger that sophomore class, and he needs the most on-field development. I should have gone in greater depth in my original post.

Jeez I hope not, take a step away bro lol

See above. I've said before that we should try to redshirt him, regardless of his health.

Just curious, where are you seeing it described as a nagging injury? Last I heard, he was competing at a high level as a sprinter.

I didn't see it described that way. I meant "a hamstring can turn into a nagging thing."

What has to happen, besides injury, for this guy to be a player in the secondary?

Seems like Love, Watkins, Vaughn, and Crawford are all ahead of him.

I don't think a RS sophomore year should be out of the question at all, regardless of injury. If we have 4 CB's that are clearly in front of him, though early, seems to be the case, this helps spread out the eligibility. I'm probably not making that decision today but it should certainly be on the table.

I'd add that future numbers are less of a concern at DE but depending on where Trumbetti ends up and how players like Okwara progress, I could see a RS sophomore year for Okwara as well. Some of those guys weren't ready to play and if we are healthy and getting production from upperclassmen, no reason we can't remedy that this season.

Unless it was torn or a partial tear where walking is painful, I would expect him to go through walk throughs, unless BK has a policy against it. Hammies do linger if not rested properly. Let's hope it doesn't linger.

If Pride can't get minutes this year, I too hope he gets the RS. It's best for him and the team. Maintain the eligibility and helps us cover that gaping hole from last year's recruiting snafu.

Would love a redshirt to spread out the class but with only 5 at the position you're a turf toe and a hang nail away from having to play... and 1 of the 4 ahead of him is a guy named Crawford.

Of course if one or two guys goes down you abandon the plan but you can still dress him for away games in case of emergency, and get him the necessary work in practice while still RS'ing him. Like you said, with only 5 CB's, getting him reps so he's ready to go, won't be an issue.

Similar to Kona Schwenke in 2011. I just think back to how much he would've helped that 14' defense from complete collapse against NW and UL. You win thoses two games and the season is a looked at much differently.

SIAP in Stanford game day thread.

Depth Chart showing he's starting opposite Julian Love on Saturday.

Congrats to Troy if so.

Troy has really come on down the stretch. Probably would have happened sooner if not for running track in spring. At start of season he needed more strength. Looks like the work in the weight room is now paying off for him.

Isn’t Watkins banged up and will probably not play this week?

Really came on the last part of the year and had a solid game yesterday too. He and Love will be a great CB tandem going into next season.

He looks jacked. Looking forward to his transformation on the field. He seems to be getting close. Him and Love at CB for two more years?

Seriously, look at the photo from the June 1st tweet, above. Now that picture could be older than that, but it shows how far this young man has come.

5'10 165. He's got a shoulder problem so I don't think he's lifted for like a year. I'm not gonna rip the kid but I still don't understand how we signed him when Sean Clifford would have crawled to Notre Dame.
