ND is going to take a QB in 2016, whether its Pass or Patterson or some under the radar project type kid like Golson. As we saw in 2013, you can't skip a year because this is Notre Dame and you never know when your starting QB might get booted. Yes, the QB chart is better than 2013, but they will take one.

@BillisKing: @jcshurburtt says he would take Pass over Henry (of the class of 16 QB'S)

Still, kinda unrealistic to get an elite QB every year. Notre Dame is not 2000s USC.

Agreed, but I'm sure we can manage a 2nd tier QB if not one of the elite QBs. Would hate to see MVG starting QB because of a couple injuries and/or transfers when we could have taken someone who fits the system in 16.

I still think there's a negligible chance we pull this kid out of Georgia. The culture, bag men, etc. are just too much to overcome.

50/50 between Bama and UNC. Still talks with PSU and ND. Sanford recently started following him on twitter and it sounds like we're going to make another run at it.

I remember posters mocking other schools (I think UCLA) for doing this. Is it okay now that Notre Dame is doing this?

UCLA did this with Chris Clark and included a 5 page bullshit article about his future success at UCLA. Way over the top in my opinion

Yeah, UCLA's "article" on Clark was absurd. I still think these covers are goofy, but if the kids like them so be it.

Looks like the staff hasn't given up on Pass yet. Hard to be optimistic with this one, though.

How can you guys say it was "way over the top" and "absurd"? Clark ended up in Westwood. It obviously was a home run.

Because I think its funny that it takes a fakes news article to get a kid to your school. Chris Clark loves that stuff though, so I'm not surprised one bit that it worked on him.

They couldn't think of a better way than to hand a kid 5 pages of lies to get him to your school?

"Edits" as they're called are part of the game. All about getting a kid to envision suiting up for your school and accomplishing their dreams.

Now, they absolutely do cross the line into absurdity in some instances. For example:
Screen-Shot-2014-08-26-at-10.41.00-AM.png

And then with Chris Clark, what made his so stupid were the typos and misstatements in the write up, not the cover.

What about winning the Heisman two years running? Or the four natties at Westwood? I am not sure that article fell short of awarding the kid "All-Pro" status, as a college player. But of course the most ironic was him achieving massive scholarly recognition in the classroom as well!

PS. It was Mikey Webber's cover at Michigan that had "American" misspelled. Those are the only two I remember getting a lot of laughs!

This is not only nothing, it's standard issue. They've all been doing this for 30 years +. Jim Valvano hired Gary Bender and Billy Packer to redo the '83 championship game's final play to include my best friend in place of Derek Wittenberg. Is that douchey too... or cool because a dead coach everybody loves came up with it for his top recruits in 1984?

...and btw, 98%+ love that stuff. I don't know one kid who didn't eat it up when we were going through it.
