Stanford's campus is one of very few I put on par with Notre Dame. I love the architecture. It's really a great place on many different levels, which is why so many people would kill to go there.
What's comical to me though is how people just refuse to acknowledge most of the negatives of that place... and trust me, there are a LOT of them. Is it because people aren't aware of them? Or people are misinformed? Hell, I've even seen people say that Stanford has "hotter girls" than ND which is just mind blowing levels of incorrect. Stanford without a doubt has one of the ugliest, weirdest female populations of any school in the country.
I see Hunter a better fit to replace Brown and CJ replacing Amir.Robertson could step in where Fuller left and we don't miss a beat. Add ESB and Hunter in the slot...Boom!
As awesome as the truck move is, if that is the determining factor for a kid to pick a school it is kind of pathetic, IMO. I love the creative work but have concerns over fawning too much over anyone.
Are you new to recruiting? This would hardly be the first time something was used to impress a recruit. This is the standard now. If you don't make these moves, you'll lose out on great talent and great kids.As awesome as the truck move is, if that is the determining factor for a kid to pick a school it is kind of pathetic, IMO. Pot of Gold is still being used...agree, but I think the staff must see that this was necessary if they went to these measures, b/c I think this is something quite out of character outside of the "pot of gold" used a few years back.

It is a boss move to put a cherry on top of a great class. Don't get me wrong- I love it. It just exemplifies all that is wrong with recruiting races and the incredible amount of attention these kids draw.

this is what happens when you can't offer recruits $$$ straight up![]()
See this is different than what is portrayed in media such as movies and news. Everyone talks about how great the girls are there. Also they talk about how wonderful the weather and campus are.

It's like this : when you think about it, buying your wife flowers to make up for an 'oops' is wrong, too. But we all have done it, because it works!
Just my two cents worth.
Oh, and reps to you all, some of you are funnier than hell!
Dubs, and Lion, I am looking at you.
From a psych perspective some of you have said the kid likes attention. Whether or not it's true, did it work? Achieve that goal? Hail yas!

The local radio station here in Columbia just discussed the truck. They all loved it and thought it was a great idea. This move is getting a lot of national attention - home run UND!
Now let's get a commitment.

A couple of things here:
1. When national recruiting created the environment for people to make a profit from reporting it, the whole dynamic of recruiting changed.
2. This change led to HS recruits being followed, questioned, etc., during the recruiting process. Every word, interview, question, type of t shirt, etc., has caused them to expect to be treated like movie stars.
3. The big business of CFB created the environment where no longer does most coaches, schools, etc., command attention simply by showing up at the front door. Therefore, the business of "selling" the school takes on a whole new meaning. Coaches now feel a need to "one up" the last coach.
4. Lastly, millennials have a sense of entitlement and think they are owed the attention.
When all else fails, throw a bag of money at them and see if that sticks. Benjamins' still command attention... no matter the generation of player.
But you know just as well as Ido if another school didn't that the reaction here would be much different.
How long before another school does the same thing? If it works maybe it could be our trade mark...I volunteer to drive the rig.

ND 1 on the recruiting (campaign) trail. Where will it stop next? Fill the truck up with the Pot of Gold campaign and we're set with any recruit it visits...
Obviously you never worked in sales...
