I could see DROB having a similar freshman year as Floyd, Fuller, and Tate. They run 1-3 routes all year long but made key plays. Mostly the 'go' route. Kids this good just need a chance to make a play with a low probability of a turnover.

Pretty sure fuller had like one catch as a freshman

The bomb against Air Force in 2013? The first sign of the man who would become the fastest WR in college football in 2015?

Yeah, it was pretty good foreshadowing. I'm just saying it's probably reasonable to expect drob to have a better freshman season than that. As far as career, if he can match fuller, then I'll be ecstatic

Standford is out, yes. You keep saying that. Until it isn't.

Stanford is not out. The confusion is coming from the fact that Stanford is not currently an option for Demetris. He's doing a lot of work behind the scenes to get into Stanford, more than just an SAT retake.

Right now ND is the leader but for those that keep insisting Stanford is out, that's simply false. Stanford isn't recruiting Demetris hard because he has a lot of work to do to get accepted but also because he's basically told them that if he gets accepted, that's where he's heading.

How is Stanford still recruiting him if they didn't even invite him to their biggest recruiting event last week? I also haven't heard a quote from DR regarding any recent conversations. There is also the pesky fact that he's never stepped on campus...

Oh I wasn't challenging you on it lol, we were on the same page. I just remember that play distinctly because they had targeted him on deep throws four or five times before that in the year.

It was a tongue-in-cheek "who knew?"

They're not pushing for him, I just said that.

There's a TON OF work to do in order for him to get admitted into Stanford. It's not likely.l which puts ND and Alabama in a good position.

Admissions working in favor of ND......?

What kind of work? "Hey, Stanford watch me get some nice scores on my quizzes over the next 3 weeks." This goes against the way Stanford goes about their business.

1. He's not being recruited by them in any meaningful way
2. They almost never make admissions exceptions
3. Robertson would be a huge exception even with an improved SAT
4. Making an exception would also go against their timeline for admissions

A lot of stuff doesn't really add up one way or the other in this recruitment so I'm going to temper expectations.

That being said, I don't seen how he chooses Bama over ND if Stanford is supposedly where he truly wants to be.

I haven't paid any attention to the weather where he is. Is this storm going that far south? My daughter was supposed to take the SAT here in Columbia,SC and she just sent me a text telling me it is cancelled. Make up date is 2/20/16.

People need to stop fretting so much. I think we put ourselves in a position (the top position) to win this recruitment regardless of whether Demetris magically reached Stanford's academic requirements.

I have no idea what is happening with this young man's recruitment, but it seems his recruitment has more sources than the Mississippi River. And who knows what any of them actually know. What seems to have happened is that he has pushed back his Bama visit twice, including missing the NC parade and he has already decommitted from there. He did not attend the big Stanford recruiting day, and by all accounts, he has never set foot on their campus. Is he so enamored with the name "Stanford" that he would sign up to attend school on the other side of the country for 4 years without ever having visited there, despite probably many opportunities for an official visit?? I applaud him for trying to improve his SAT score, but I do find it difficult to comprehend that he would commit to Stanford, sight unseen. I would give him a better chance to commit to Georgia Tech, sight unseen. At least he is more familiar with the culture of the south. Now, I have no sources, but I am sure someone has one. But the guys who do this for a living on Scout have him trending toward ND and 8 of the last 10 at 247 have predicted ND, including the "recruiting Messiah," Wiltfong. (By the way, the other 2 in those 10 said Georgia.)

Stanford is still in.

No they aren't! He can't get in, nor has any Stanford coached visited with him? He's not going to Stanford because he can't get in. It's more then just an SAT score. Has he even started the app? Is Stanford even recruiting him? Or is Drob recruiting himself to Stanford? Seems like he's doing all the work, he's going to commit to a school he's never visited or coaches he barely knows?

I am not saying that they aren't, but really, why should I believe you?? Are you one of these anonymous sources?? Has a Stanford coach gone to Georgia to meet with him? I just can't believe that none of these things have happened, or not happened, and they are still squarely in the race. I don't care what his grades/SAT scores are.

What is the appeal to Stanford?

Do they have a major that he really wants that we don't?

1) More successful of late
2) More hip area
3) substantially better weather
4) way more businesses in the area (not that he'll probably be interning any time soon)
5) More attractive women, especially in the surrounding area.
6) More prestigious school.

Feel free to add others.

Can I ask another stupid question? I am a bit older and took a different version of the SAT. How "easy" is it to rise your score 100 points? Is it as simple as getting a tutor and spending hours studying? I know that there are other issues that he may have in going there, but I thought that I would ask.

IMO not that hard. I went from 850 to 980 and I didn't even study the 2nd time.
