I really hope Claypool wins offensive rookie of the year. remember the days when we were saying maybe ND should move Claypool to LB, what fools we were.

“Remember the days” combined with “rookie of the year” takes me back to ‘93 when Bettis, Brooks and Miror finished 1, 2 and 3. Followed by Bryant Young in ‘94.

Damn I’m getting old.

Unless Pittman really picks it up, I will forever be mad that the Colts didn't pick up Chase instead.

Titans spent their 1st on a UGA OT who has already gotten a DUI. We could've gotten Claypool who would've killed it for our running game and taken over when AJ Brown gets double teamed.

He was doing ok until he got hurt. I haven't seen any recent updates but heard that kind of injury can be career threatening.

Just took a handoff from Big Ben and ran it in for a touchdown. Glowing praise from the announcers, commenting that Ben loves him and pointed out 11 other receivers went before him.

Didn’t make the mistake of not starting him this week.

Mapletron is clearly a big part of the offense now.

If Johnson gets healthy I think the Steelers will have the best WR group in the league and I'm not sure it'll be close.

That might be pushing it a bit, but damn good regardless. Getting more and more sick that the Colts took Pittman over Claypool. Still hoping Pittman emerges when healthy, but boy I sure wanted Chase.

How has Nelson been going for the Colts the last few weeks? I don't get to see many of their games and even extended highlights don't give an indication of o-line play.

He's been a monster. Little regression this year (the entire OL has), but he's still easily a top 10 OL in the league. I think part of his problem, has been helping to much with the LT who is aging, and our C, who IMO is overrated. He did get abused a few times though in the two previous games, but they were one offs, and against good DEs.

Thanks, that is why I asked. I read a game review that suggest he was slightly down a few ago. I wonder if the empty stands have an influence on being dominant every snap.

Megatron 2.0?

The above was from before the 2019 season, before Claypool's Combine numbers and measureables matched Megatron. Prophetic!

I'll admit I undersold Claypool last year. I thought he was good, but didn't think he was head and shoulders above Boykin or any of our receivers that have been drafted in the last 10 years. Given his Combine numbers and way he's splashed into the league here he could be starting a very special career. Just wish the Steelers didn't get him, but I'll root for him all the same like I did for the Bus.

I think another thing impacting his grade is that fact we're breaking in a new/rook RB1. Our returning starter went down for the season game one, and Jonathan Taylor (2nd round out of WI) had to step up early. He's from a power/gap and learning zone. His timing isn't there yet. They've started to let him hit the edge harder, and he looks to be building confidence. As he evolves/emerges, the OL run grades should get better. Regardless, even a little down, he's still a beast.

Q was very good yesterday. Had a great pancake on a blitzer coming up the middle.

Claypool would look so much better in Colts blue.

Claypool got some serious love on NFL Live today. Said he was the number one receiver for Pittsburgh and questioned how he got drafted in the 2nd round.

I think Ian's inconsistency led to some of it. Inconsistent passing game outings led to inconsistent numbers for Claypool. However, I also think that Claypool would've benefited from the old school style BK offense where the #1 WR was moved around to create matchups and get them more involved regularly.

Also BKs default position of starting freshman WRs from the dog house. He should show WR recruits around his dog house (which seat will be theirs etc) on their visits.

There was enough tape on claypool and there were about of other talented receivers taken before him. Sometimes it's about need/fit/evaluation. Claypool found himself in a position to succeed which is why he is shining.

Claypool should have been a first rounder.

He had an amazing year and multiple acrobatic catches along the sideline.

His name just wasn’t CeeDee.

You’re right, it would’ve been better if his name was EyeCeeYouPee.

Looking back he should have had 15 or 20 catches as a freshman and 40 as a sophomore.
Just like Austin should have had 15 or 20 as a freshmen.
And JJ this year.
