Vancouver nailed this one...And as the IE profit I was always pro in him playing WR and Adams playing RB. These are just more reasons they call me the profit of IE.

They showed his basketball highlights on the TV coverage. He probably should be on the BB team. I bet he could walk onto the baseball and lacrosse team as well.

Yes, but if you paid close attention to the highlights, you could see why he chose FB. He'd need about a year working with NDCrusader to get that shot up high enough so it wouldn't get blocked.

Irish WR Chase Claypool out for Citrus Bowl with shoulder injury
By Alex Wilcox | Posted: Sat 2:08 PM, Dec 16, 2017

Irish WR Chase Claypool will miss the Citrus Bowl after tearing ligaments in his shoulder in practice last week, according to multiple sources with knowledge of the situation.

Claypool will undergo surgery Tuesday.

The loss is a big one for Notre Dame, as Claypool has emerged as one of quarterback Brandon Wimbush's favorite targets. The sophomore receiver from Canada is second on the team with 29 receptions for 402 yards and two touchdowns.

Claypool originally injured the shoulder in Notre Dame's 24-17 win over Navy on November 18th, but was able to stay in the game. He also played the next week in the season finale, a 38-20 loss to Stanford in Palo Alto, but only recorded one catch for 11 yards.

Notre Dame will play LSU in the Citrus Bowl at 1 p.m. on New Year's Day.

Football got robbed when CC came to ND to be a WR. He'd have been better served coming to ND to be an OLB/DE. He'd have been best served going to UDub or Stanford and playing the big OLB in a 3-4.

He may still fully engage at WR before it's over but it's just not coming naturally and this tweet below sounds like a dog house report.

First 6 games: 18 catches, 200 yards
Last 3 games: 18 catches, 248 yards

Has he turned a corner? I hope so. He has star potential.

My thought begging of the the season was he was gone after this year him and Boykin both because claypool manly was getting frustrated with the inaccurate throws from Wimbush I think with book at QB both come back next year now

Hoping so. Gonna need him down the stretch and especially next year if/when MB declares...

Boykin has no business declaring he could use anothe year there has been times where he has disappeared this year or missed some easy throws

If ESB can declare after the year he had, no reason MB can't. I agree that he would benefit from an extra year, but it would hardly be the weirdest thing that I've ever seen if he declared.

To be fair, ESB had a 60/900+ soph season and verified NFL speed. Big difference in resumes here. CC is a better #3 or #4 WR prospect in the NFL because he's more athletic, an elite blocker at the position and a ST stud. Barring injury, he's the type of guy who'll be in the league, at some capacity, for a long time.

Gotta love last night's performance by CC. Good routes, used his body flawlessly, good hands and after the catch, he instantly goes into yac-mode for an extra 3-5 hard earned yards... so much so that every last one of you starts thinking, don't fumble!

If the last 3 games are the new normal, I don't mind that they missed putting him at Drop. Not one bit.

IMO Claypool was the biggest casualty in Wimbush’s issues around accuracy.

Chase got a significant amount of the blame for BW’s struggles, which was preposterous.

Even when Book started, he wasn’t looking to Claypool in the first three games. It is only lately that Book has figured out what an asset Claypool is if he just throws him the damn ball.

I agree, but I think all the WRs suffered to some degree. Some receivers and TEs can do more with "less", than others, or are better equipped to do more with less coming in. The general development of all of the WRs/TEs suffered with BW, so those that were more polished or better catchers when they got here, were less impacted than those that weren't.

I think Chase is also benefiting from all the attention that Boykin is getting now from the opposing Ds. I'd love to see him continue to improve/emerge as he's faster than Boykin and speed is something we lack at the position.

Coming back for senior year I think he will have a great year

I think he and Austin could be a very nice 1-2. Claypool will benefit a ton with a full off season with Book or PJ. Claypool is faster, and IMO might have a higher ceiling than Boykin.

That's if they don't move some folks around. I think Young is going to push someone for PT as well.

I know I'm stepping into Kuhnja's territory but...ummm... this dude needs to focus 100 this entire season because that's a first round pic if I've ever seen one:

This man is shredded and terrorized in spring ball. I hope he can stay healthy and hungry because the man has the physical tools.
