It's quite comical to go back and read through this thread...I recommend when everyone gets a minute

I highlighted some good ones on the last page. Really is reminiscent of Tommy's recruiting thread...so many people writing him off before he even stepped on campus, and some wondering why we wasted a scholarship on him. Crazy to think both are in the record books now.

I thought nothing is written in stone until you sign an agent? Can't a player technically go through the Senior Bowl and get a draft grade before ultimately pulling the trigger? Not saying Book is definitely gone or staying, I'm just spitballin' and asking questions here.

I looked around and tried to find info on it. Nothing... Couldn't even find anything about them getting paid.

If they get paid for participating in the SR bowl, then I'd agree it's a sign he's not coming back. But I would also assume he can either 1) not take money for playing, or 2) decline the invite later if he wanted.

Apologies if this has been answered in the past but CBK's today about players taking advantage of the eligibility waiver for this season..

Book has committed to the Senior Bowl which would lead me to believe he is gonna move on.. but if he doesn't show well, can he come back in 2021? Or does the bowl acceptance negate that possibility?

In a typical year no. Players that accept invites to the senior bowl get paid some amount and it makes them ineligible. Who knows with this funky season though.

I think they are pretty accurate. Short white kid running around literally in circles, slinging it from all angles, bobbling snaps and turning it into plays, beating the #1 team in the country, etc.

Hopefully his post-college life is nothing like Manziel though.

Fine by me, but can we also get Mike Evans for the next few weeks?

Manziel, no. Manziel was half OVERT attitude and half crazy foot skill. I imagine that teammates liked the attitude as long as he delivered, and he probably made them believe. Ian ain't overt. He has had to take far longer than Manziel to make them believe that he'll just flat out win the game.

I'll take the A&M/BAMA game where Manziel just crazy plays them to a win, though. (... and remembering the equally crazed Alabama fan on You-Tube watching the game, screaming at him "You're a good football player, Johnny Manziel, but I hate you.")

I’m curious to what a poll would look like from IE on whether you’d welcome IB back.

I’m all in, given the unknown behind him.

I'd love to have him back. #1, he'd give us our best chances of winning, and #2 it would make for a nice bridge year prior to what is hopefully a handoff to Buchner in 2022.

I have a bit of fear that BK will go to one of the QBs (Clark or Pyne) next year, and then will stay there for too long instead of handing off to Buchner.

Anyone who voted against it is insane. He's the all time winningest QB in Notre Dame history.

He played great today despite most of the team sleep walking. I get it...it’s Senior Day so there’s emotions...they just secured a spot in the ACC CG....and then they look at the fact they’re facing a 1-9 team. Regardless of what the coaches say, it’s got to be hard to get fired up after a year of grinding.

Considering the game wasn’t at risk of losing in the 2nd half, I’m kind of glad Ian went ahead and got that pick out of the way. He was due and could get away w/ one today...no so much in two weeks.

they are interviewing Book on ABC in a few if anyone is interested.

The questions they asked him were bad, didn't really ask him the sorts of questions that he could actually answer with anything but a canned boring answer

Glad they gave him an out on the top 4 teams question. That had bulletin board material written all over it

They should have asked him about that cheerleader he floored a few years ago and whether he is still in contact etc.
The only thing I took out of it is he loves watching college football so I assume will probably head into coaching eventually.
