Even BK isn't immune to shelling out a bit of BS here and there.

I find it hard to believe that Alloway, a slot receiver and/or RB hybrid, is going to see the field in a "key role" next year, especially with Torii and CJ ahead of him and Fuller coming back.

I guess if Fuller leaves early, and Torii moves to defense or plays on the outside full-time it could happen, but even then I would think CJ has the inside track at the slot receiver job, not to mention the backfield that will return fully loaded.

I have to believe the McIntosh committment ends the Alloway recruitment? Personally, I would rather have slots who can play RB as well, unless the kid is just completely electric.

Per Steve, Notre Dame still has room for Alloway even with the addition of McIntosh. Look for ND to take a large class

we could expect another commitment today then? isnt alloway close to popping?

His post-visit quoted didn't didn't suggest that he was deciding in the next 48 hours. But I've heard that he was going to make a decision in the next month or so

I really, really hope I end up eating this words and everyone gets to go "LOL LAX IS AN IDIOT"...

But to me, Alloway is your quintessential overrated California skill player. Nothing about his tape is wowing, and I don't see how he'll ever make an impact at ND. I could maybe see him being decent on defense, depending on how fluid his hips are.

I watched McIntosh's and Alloway's tapes back to back and came away with the same impression. I almost began to wonder whether Alloway looked slower than McIntosh because he was filmed at a farther distance. Otherwise, I can't comprehend how McIntosh is a composite 3 star and Alloway is a 4 star. McIntosh looks physically superior in every way.

Based on info we have up to date...I'd take McIntosh over Alloway on offense any day.

that's what I saw.

I agree.

I just don't want another WR unless he's a stud. We don't rotate all that much.

My guess it's not so much BS, but more along the lines of, "If you come in and work hard, you will have every opportunity to start or see significant playing time." I can see BK using Adams and others as examples.

Our slot position now is not used like it was with Riddick. Very rarely is the RB shifted out to the slot any more.

It seems to me the primary duties of the RBs now are, various sweeps, dives, read option runs and pass protection. I have seen them flash out in to the flats but only rarely.

Obviously that can change but it seems to be trending that way even when Cam and Folston were the Rb's and was also why Bryant never saw the field. His pass protection was poor.

I see Alloway as a receiver/returner and McIntosh as a RB. I think McIntosh body type will allow him to add necessary weight for the position. Size is likely the reason he is a three star but I think he'll be a 4 star college RB.

I agree, but I think Folston would have gotten more catches this year if he had stayed healthy. Procise has questionable hands, and BK is a little wary of freshmen getting out of thier comfort zones.

All I want is some freaking two back sets to be part of ND's regular sets moving forward. I realize why they cannot this year, but when looking to next year, it has to be a must.

I could not agree more. They generally need more creativity in the running game. Counters and so forth... Although I will say that WF was the first game in the Kelly era that I was yelling for them to pass more!

I have been saying for weeks how I would love for Luatua to be a fullback at times, especially in the redzone. All he does is block anyway.

To be fair, McINtosh's film is almost comically sped up. Looks faster than NFL play in those highlights.

I am going to go ahead and modify my opinion based on DA's senior film.

While I preferred an APB to another WR in this class, I can certainly see why Alloway is covetted and more highly rated. He's has REALLY good functional speed. It's hard to judge top speed, but its not hard to see that he can change directions really well. He's much more smooth than McIntosh.

He also plays defense with swagger.

Verdict: WANT.

Do they actually do this? That sucks!

Either that or McIntosh is playing against the '85 Bears lol. McIntosh is definitely fast is pretty clearly the fastest guy on the field in his tape, but there's no way in hell that his competition is that fast as they appear on his highlight film.

With ND taking McIntosh and Stovall not having his books right to be an early enrolee, there is nothing wrong with talking Alloway and redshirting him next year...

The kid is a dynamic all around football player in all three aspects of the game. He has multiple TD's in receiving, rushing, interceptions and returns. He has been more productive than CJ Sanders was in all aspects of the game except rushing but Alloway plays with the #2 or #3 RB in the class of 2017, Stephen Carr and doesn't see the ball much besides the occasional jet sweep. To be fair, Sanders did play in the Mission League against Serra, Amat, Crespi, Loyola and Alemany so the competition is Top 10 nationally. That does have to be mentioned.

Here are a few game highlights of him doing his thing.

I thought he was saying in his last interview that BK told him that he would play as a freshman?

Alloway looks pretty darn good on tape. I think I was too down on him because I wanted Stovall.

He reminds me a little of Bennett Jackson.

Personal opinion but if Will Fuller does actually return, then I think BK can be a bit more picky with the WR position.
