the interesting thing about that tweet is Kelly said earlier in the day that the staff knew who was coming back (or something close to this) and was leaving it to the players to announce.

Maybe he's waiting on the NCAA. He needs to be approved for a 6th year and just applied recently. Everyone thinks he'll be approved but it is the NCAA after all.

Please, please God, let him stay healthy. Not even for the selfish reason that we need him in the defensive backfield, but for himself. I can't imagine going through all those injuries like he did.

Didn't he miss 2 full seasons due to injuries? And then most of a 3rd. I think we all are jaded from the NCAA's past decision with regards to ND but this seems like a slam dunk

If they don't give him a 6th year, the whole system is ridiculously corrupt. I can't think of a player, at least one capable of starting, that has missed more time during a career. When they look up the definition of 6th year, Shaun's name and picture should be there going forward.

There's no "if" about it. And odds are good that ND will naively dot every 'i' and cross every 't' in his application for a 6th year, which will give shysters at the NCAA all the leverage they need to deny it.
Pretty obvious, barring something unforeseen, TaRiq Bracy will be a starter next season. He deserves it and I think he'll be a good one. Doe Crawford start opposite of him or do they use him like they did in 2019? Rutherford and Wallace have impressed; maybe they'll get the nod.
