Sorry to ruin your misconception:

Mack's tied for third most receptions on the team.

Mack's also caught a higher percentage of targets than ESB or Stepherson. Of the 4 most targeted receivers only Claypool had a higher percentage of receptions.

Targets are a bad statistic this year considering BW’s wildly inaccurate passing. I’d like to know the stats on how many balls were overthrown in ESB’s targets.

Mack hasn't tweeted in 11 days. Everyone should have known something was up

I still remember Mike Farrell doing a video saying

"If he decides he's gonna be a great football player that's gonna remind you of Kyle Rudolph numbers wise"

"ND needs to light a fire under him because he's one of the most gifted TE's athletically I've seen"

Only so much one can do. He sounds like he needs to decide if ND his still the right for him.

If so than work your a$$ off. If no sorry it didn't work out but good luck.

No one can light a fire under someone other than themselves...and God. Parents cant truly change kids, spouses cant, employers cant. The person has to be willing to do what they need to do.

Mack doesnt have it at this time. Maybe a victim of the "you are great" prior to now. I hope he can finish his degree and get a good job that will serve him and his family but doesnt look like football is it. If you cant succeed in college, I cant imagine pro being an option.

strongly disagree....it can take someone who sees so much potential in someone which gives you the motivation to put in the necessary work.....i was lazy throughout school, didn't care much but i was able to skate through...i had 1 chemistry teacher that for someone reason he was able to "reach me" and i always put in the extra work just for his class because i felt a great deal of respect for him which in turn gave me the motivation i needed to be the best student i could be and i excelled in his class as a result

...Yea I've seen this. You see a kid change teams, and boom, things click. You see a kid ace Calculus and fail History. Some of it comes form the teacher, and just as you described. I wouldn't have coached kids if I didn't think there are some I'm built to reach...that there was a purpose beyond the game. But you also have to recognize when it is time for a kid to hear another voice, and for their own good, send them somewhere else.

On catchable balls, Mack had a 27% drop rate which is absurd.

Not directed at you, just using your stat.

Week 2: "He's just got nerves. It's nornal".

Me: "No, that's not normal. Freshman come in and make these plays. He has issues".

Everyone: "Get off of him, hell be fine. Forget your hot take".

do we know whey he's suspended?

is the l"ate for practice" thing been confirmed?

it's all fuzzy, but from folks in the know, it's not drug, crime, or grades related. something about failing to do what BK asked him to do twice.

which still makes me scratch my head given the pro BK tweets from him earlier this year.

You can like and respect your coach on social media and still be a slackass.

Something team-related like “late for practice” might also explain why he dressed for but barely played in the Stanford game. A warning, and maybe he did it again in bowl practice.

ah, makes sense. i didn't equate "something BK asked him to do" as being late for practice. Thought it was something more serious that BK asked him to do. Showing up on time to practice is not something BK should even have to ask him.

Rumors on other boards is he was late for practice. No idea if it’s true.

Neither tardiness nor a du Lac violation was the issue. The issue was previously mentioned on this board.

I wouldn't expect any elaboration. Kelly had the opportunity and chose to be brief.

Interesting, because that was also Sampson’s guess. Trying to find the thread now.
