BW can never seem to hit him on that playaction pass where Mack comes across the formation. it's like a 5 yard pass and it needs to be thrown quickly to give Mack time to catch and turn upfield. BW always screws it up and its infuriating!

Mack would just drop it anyway.

Prister mentioned on the II podcast this week that academic hurdles might be future concern, with the disclaimer that he wouldn't just "throw that our there haphazardly." Just wondering if anyone knew anything.

Bout time we got some negative news to chew on. Was getting boring round here.

Edit: Don't want to be hard on him. That sucks because he sounds like a positive kid. But production wise well be fine.

Losing Mack to academics will be a positive IMO.

Fell into the Redfield bucket of Most underwhelming high end recruit

He’s still got two years of eligibility, yeah? There’s always hope. But thus far, not especially whelmed.

It will be a bigger blow for Mack than ND. I hope the guy gets his grades in order and graduates. Hate to see any guy flunk out. Seems like a good kid.

On the field, Mack hasn't done anything that can't be done as well or better by Wright and Kmet. The real impact (if he becomes ineligible due to academics) is the effect it may have on recruiting. This would only add fuel to the fire of the negative recruiting that already takes place.

We all know what our competitors are saying "You don't want to go to Notre Dame. The academic demands are too hard. You will never be able to stay eligible. Look at what happened to ___________ and ____________ and ____________.... Notre Dame wants you to attend classes and do your own work. Come to our school instead. We can set you up with some easy classes. In fact, if you come to our school, you won't even have to attend classes."

What???

You never want to lose a kid due to academics. How would this be a positive??

Other teams would use this to recruit against us. Not a good post man.

To which ND replies... WTF are they talking about? 96% of our players graduate.

To worry about this is foolishness.

Was very positive, and pro ND while fighting back. Then pro-BK with lovefest tweets.
I hope he gets it together. Was my favorite recruit from his class.

I'd be extremely shocked if he were on the team next year.

I get the hate on Mack but we haven't had TE production since Niklas... most underused position on the team. I blame our QBs for not utilizing them

Yeah Alize won’t get a degree from the University of Notre Dame. Awesome! At least Cole Kmet will get to play a year earlier! Rooting for a kid not to accomplish his academics is petty.

It’s not really his fault for unwhelming. He was barely thrown to. But when thrown to he hasn’t looked that impressive. Hard to put a ton of weight on the kid though. Coaches really should have slimmed him down to be a WR, IMO.

It's been ever since Booker took over TEs. We saw a small uptick in TE production this year in Long's offense and with Booker gone, but I doubt we'll ever see the production we once saw under Bernie Parmalee's tutelage. Every starting TE he coached was gold.

This is bullshit. I root for every ND player but Mack had to have the highest drop percentage on the team. There were multiple crucial moments in games where he failed and it cost us.

Him being slimmed down wouldn't have changed that.

Yes. Bad post by me.

Just disappointed in the kid wasting his second chance.

If you'd have told me back in 2015 when I was watching Von McKinley and Alize in person that their stat lines at ND would look like they currently do, I'd have laughed in your face and told you to go play with your Barbies.

Taught me a lesson.
