Ahh screw it, I'll go on record.... I don't think we will regress.
Listen, Wimbush is our guy, but I honestly don't think we will miss much of a beat with Book against a mess of a UNC squad. If this was USC, I may feel different. But I think where Book lags Wimbush in running ability, he makes up for throwing the ball. We will be alright if he gets the nod in this game.
"I'm not ripping BK, I'm fine with him approaching it this way".
Daddaa, stop trolling dude.
I am the farthest from a troll. I read through the posts and answer as I go. This post was much later. Your first post was ripping BK...don't care how you try and spin it.

This. I'm not saying there will or won't be any regression. But fuck we've seen the kid for less than a half and it was all in meaningless time. Its amazing how cocky a fan base can get after a good couple of weeks against lesser opponents.

Yeah I'm not getting the Book is better than Wimbush argument at all. If we don't have Wimbush Saturday, I think that's going to make the game a lot closer.
I do hope BW can practice this week. He needs all the reps we can get him (without hurting Books sharpness).
Edit see ^
It can help his timing with individual receivers and his mechanics if whatever is wrong with his foot can take it. I remember Jimmy Clausen struggling to pass with turf toe.
He might better spend his time with Rees watching video of HIS play through five games seeing the open receivers he's NOT seeing. Going through the read options he's holding the ball on too long to better his decision making. On several of the pass incompletions he had an open receiver but waited too long before throwing allowing a defender to recover from being beat. The receiver had achieved separation it took Brandon too long to make the decision. There are too many times he jumps from the pocket when the pocket is holding. Is it that he can't see over the OLs, if so speak up to the OC to change the plays. Or again is it decisions making errors in this case pulling it down to soon to take off by foot. With an injured foot it isn't prudent to be practicing pocket integrity in real time. If one of those OLs, TEs, or RBs, or a defender inadvertently steps on his foot or he re-injures himself with a misstep forget USC.
He needs more on foot work and mechanics but he needs evenmore on his vision, reads, and improving his decision making. That can be done with a coach in the video room.
Agree, he holds the ball too long. He needs to "trust his eyes" as coaches like to say.
BW is the starter over Book for a reason. Think about that. UNC may not be as good this year, but as already pointed out, they are a P5 ACC team playing at home. This will be tighter than most expect. I hope we get on them early, but think we pull this out late.
Why does everyone assume BW is out this weekend? BK said the boot was a precaution. BW in a boot doesn't mean he's out. Sounds like he has a bruised foot and BK just wants to give it a few days to rest. Given the limited amount of info given, I think he plays Saturday.

Probably have to burn Avery Davis’s redshirt if Wimbush doesn’t go, or at the very least get him ready. He could be playing after the first offensive play god forbid

For me it's more the fact we haven't seen much of Book.I think some of y'all are overestimating how tough it will be to go, on the road, to unc. Fans don't support the football team in Chapel Hill and fans don't attend games. I'll be surprised if coaches can't yell out to whichever QB they have playing in the middle of the game. The noise level in the stadium will probably be like an 8th grade game.
