This one sounds worse than the rivals one, lol.
IDK when Coney was offered relative to Bilal but the way I am seeing it is it is a Coney's spot since Bilal can't be bothered to visit. For whatever reason.maybe Coney realizes since UFs loss this weekend that they are bottoming out and we are rising.

Oh well
The key here is does he stick. Samspon at II mentioned today that the staff loves him as a player but there are some red flags on whether he sticks or not.

Muschamp is certainly telling him BK to nfl, right?
To bad he doesn't have a QB or a WR worth a damn. Which is unreal considering the school he coaches at.
Adam Krohn of rivals just got done talking with Coney this evening and posted that this quote stuck out to him the most. "It's going to come down to which school has the most coaching stability." With that said he also thinks Muschamp will be there next year and he trusts their coaching staff.
Rivals Florida site thinks it's ND.
Coney said he's making his decision based on coaching stability. Which leads me to think ND and him aren't a match. It will be a miracle to keep Kelly here long term, I think everyone knows that. It's a good thing we did finally get the right guy after all these years though, since we have the chance of being elite for a longer time than in recent memory.

After Spurrier left UF promoted an assistant with no head coach experience, Ron Zook.
Ha, this sentence is a little misleading. Foley hired Zook away from the NO Saints, as he was the DC there, so I don't really see that promoting an assistant. However, it does drive home the fact that Foley sucks at hiring.
He was DC under Spurrier there in the early 90's, before getting demoted to ST coach for a year.
Where is the coaching stability at UF since Suppier left? Much less the judgement in hiring coaches?
After Spurrier left UF hired a former assistant with no head coach experience, Ron Zook. He was embattled throughout his 3 years. They fired him and made Strong interim HC ... for 1 game. They wouldn't hire Strong who went on to blossom at UL.
Their President, Meyer's former boss at Utah, was the key to Meyer's hiring. Urban had a 6 year run as successful as Spurrier's 12 year run. Then Meyer had a mysterious illness that made him give up coaching ... until he had a miraculous recovery when the OSU job suddenly became available.
Then UF hired another guy with no HC experience. He foundered the first year to fan furor. Then ripped off 11 wins and was the Gators Guy! Then had a losing season and became the worst coach in history.
Stability? At UF? They didn't have it before Spurrier either. See Pell, Hall, and Darnell.
Just a bit of a tangent here but Zook was a hell of a recruiter IIRC. He went up to Illinois and really rebuilt a really crappy program as well as leaving Florida and Meyer with a stocked cabinet of stellar players. I was just talking Illini football with a U of I grad last week and he misses Zook.
Nothing in your post says anything to the contrary, just a little Zook rant I had to go on.
Of course the grad misses Zook, the Illini would at least occasionally make it to bowl games with him.
Haha very valid point. It's a head-scratcher as to why he got let go as its Illinois and all.
Agreed. I modified the previous post to note they hired a former assistant. My point was they hired a guy with no HC experience at a major program to replace a legend. That's a formula for failure.
FWIW, 4 CBs to ND in the past 3 days, none for Florida.
4 CBs from Buckeye guy, Auburn guy, Florida guy, FSU guy.
Chris Nee with a ND prediction. We might land him but until he signs that LOI I still don't think he ends up at ND.
